enjoy the 45 minute drive from Dartmouth along the #7 highway where sandy
beaches, quiet coves and fishing villages reminiscent of a bygone era await.

A stop at The Lobster Shack Restaurant provides a wonderful setting
..Home-style specials such as Steamed Lobster...Lobster Salad
plate...oven-roasted Breast of Chicken and much more with home-made pies
and scrumptious desserts are sure to create those cherished warm memories in
every member of the family. Then a leisurely drive back to town.....or to
Cape Breton.

This unpretentious but homey Country Inn has been welcoming visitors on the
Eastern Shore for the past 86 years. Established in 1920 the Salmon River
House has long enjoyed the enviable reputation as being "the place to stop
on the Marine Drive, Nova Scotia's Seacoast. Extensive renovations and
improvements have been made over the last few years by the Innkeepers Adrien
Blanchette and wife Elisabeth.

Comfy accommodation (7 rooms, 1 cottage, queens and king size beds, all
private bath, some ensuite whirlpool, some shower units, all cable TV,
radio, hairdryer) Spring, Summer, Autumn packages available. Children
welcome. Garden and canoes available. Lobster Festival & Pirate Festival at
the site each year in June and September.

At The Lobster Shack packages such as "Taste of Nova Scotia Lobster Special"
are very polular. Delicious home cooking, heart smart cuisine, succulent
seafood and great charbroiled steaks, great desserts. The large dinng deck a
few feet from the salt water, offers diners an unspoiled view of Jeddore
Harbour and breathtaking summer sunsets on the Salmon River. Romance,
Hiking, Surfer Overnight Packages available all summer long.

Internet access. Please no pets. Our house is smoke free since 20 years.
