Liked: Great location. Staff were very helpful at the front desk. Staff that run the activities were unreal. Max and the bar tour. Chris and the bike tour was bloody hilarious an awesome day out!

Disliked: I booked through hostel bookers and needed to pay a deposit online. This wasn't taken into consideration when I checked in.

Liked: The hostel itself was wonderful. The rooms were excellent and the restaurant/bar in the basement provided a great place to meet other travelers. My friends and I had fun mingling with them. The hostel also has planned activities (which we didn't have time to attend) but we would have good if our trip allowed us.

Disliked: If you drive to Montreal, parking near this hostel is unsafe. While we were there, one of the people staying there said they heard someone's car window was smashed in the night before. The next day, my car window was broken and the doors were unlocked. Luckily I had all my valuables with me so nothing important was stolen, but I had to get my window replaced. A neighbor passing by said that this happens often. If you leave ANYTHING visible in your car (cooler, dirty gym bag, small bag of any kind), it will be targeted. The neighbor said his car had been broken into several times since he's lived there. The hostel was wonderful in helping me with supplies to tape up the window before I drove the 4 hours back home, but they should take care to warn drivers about parking in that neighborhood. DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING VISIBLE IN YOUR CAR!!!

Liked: Was not happy at check in - I'm travelling with my partner and we were told we'd have to sleep in separate dorms even though we'd booked in advance and checked in at 1pm on the dot......the next day there was still an empty bed in 1 of our dorms so not sure what that was about! Apart from that it was pretty cool, great kitchen and close to the metro station. Lots of organised activities. All staff were pretty cool (except for the girl who checked us in).

Liked: Really good price in comparison to the other options.

Disliked: The staff were friendly although they were reluctant to do anything when one of the rooms we stayed in had a really bad smell coming from the washroom. The pipes must have been backed up and gave off a really bad smell. We complained everyday and the response was that they will send someone up and they never did. That was a big turn off.

Liked: Nice clean hostel, comfortable room, helpful staff, location right next to the Bell Centre where the Maiden gig was.

Disliked: Bit on the expensive side.

Liked: Great breakfast. It was good to have air conditioning in all rooms, mainly during the summer in Montreal, which can get very hot and sticky. It is just one block far from Lucien-L`Allier subway station on the orange line. From the airport, for 7 dollars you can ride de 747 (info all over the airport) and it will drop you off on Rene-Levesque, also one block away. I arrived at Montreal Central Station and just walked westbound on Rene-Levesque.

Disliked: There was this group of American teenagers and they were annoyingly noisy. Apart from that, I shared my room with 7 other guys and we had no problems using the ensuite.

Liked: I was there for a total of 6 hours and in that time i didn't have any problems. Good enough for me.

Liked: This hostel exceeded my expectations. It was right downtown, very clean, and the staff was very helpful. The only thing I would suggest is to book directly through the hostel as there was an extra reservation fee through hostelbookers that was not deducted from our fee.

Liked: I had a great stay in the mixed dorm this week. The staff were super friendly and I was able to make lots of spontaneous friends. I wish I'd had more time to do the hostel events because the pub crawl was great. I'd definitely come back. Keep up the fun times!

Liked: Excellent staff. Good communal area with pool table. Big and clean kitchen. Good location. Sell the ice hockey tickets which i'd recommend doing! Felt very secure there. Only downside was you had to pay for breakfast at the bar downstairs but worth it as there was a good selection and wasnt overly priced.
