Liked: It was a great location and the owners are very very nice.

Disliked: Very dirty. The beds have a layer of dirt on them and the beds themselves are awful. The pillows are useless and the bathrooms have no soap. The kitchen was ok, but again, quite dirty.

Liked: Nothing to like , Except one staff personal who was very friendly and helpful

Liked: It offered free breakfast and was a reasonable price.

Disliked: The air conditioning wasn't working the night I was there so my room was unbearably hot. The reception only offered very limited hours.

Liked: Highly recommend this hostel to stay in Montreal. Clean room (inside bathroom and small kitchette) and friendly staff. You can store your luggage in the storage room for free and it has 2 bathroom with shower facilities downstairs if you only need to leave Montreal at night. Free internet and free breakfast.

Disliked: Abit noisy but with earplugs, it does not really matter.

Liked: Lots of character!! Staff are friendly and will go out of their way to help you, its close to the greyhound and metro stations, free breakfast - with tea and coffee and great atmosphere. Not your typical sterile hostel - much better than that! I started out staying for 2 days which turned into a month, really enjoyed it here!

Disliked: Just one thing, some of the tea cups didnt have handles, although there was enough with handles so it didnt really matter!

Liked: The location is great. The Quartier Latin is a short walk (Saint-Denis Street has excellent food). Around the corner from Auberge Maeva Motreal is Avenue Duluth E which also had an excellent spread of restaurants. Enjoyed the Quartier Latin better than downtown so I would recommend this location to others. There was also free street parking available.

Disliked: The rooms and hostel in general weren't as clean as I would have liked. I would have liked to know that they are a cash-only operation ahead of time so I could have planned better. The atmosphere was not as welcoming as other hostels. People kept to themselves.

Liked: First, I was in trouble when I arrived there. My bus was very late, and I would have missed the reception which closes at 11pm. When I rang to explain my case in French (!), the receptionist did me a favor by leaving the key in a envelope at the first entrance. So, for me, customer service is number one. Thanks very much. Otherwise, I would have slept outside for my first night in Montreal!

Disliked: I only saw 4 lockers inside the room and we were six persons. So, I didn't think that it was that secure to keep valuable stuffs. Moreover, some of my room mates thought that it was a good idea not to lock after themselves!!! It was OK for me because I was only there for a week-end, but if I had wanted to stay longer, I would probably have asked for another locker.

Liked: Good location, friendly staff, decent sized room and good internet. The only thing I would have to say is that this hostel has mostly french people staying there so if you don't speak french, it could make talking to other travellers a bit hard.

Liked: Generous portions of breakfast, good atmosphere. Sleeping dorms a bit cramped and noisy however, but little different from other hostels in this respect.

Liked: A very good value for money! The rooms are quite spacious (the 6-bed one feels like 4+2 actually), colorful and have their own kitchenette too. In-room toilet&bath was a biiit old-looking/dirty but far from anything one would really mind. It's nice to have a free tea/coffee and reasonable breakfast in the morning (do-it-and-clean-it-yourself). Good wi-fi signal. Possibility to cook on one's own. Very good location (1 min to Plateau, to 10 mins to central bus station, 20 to the center). Take your own lock to use the in-room lockers. Good place to meet people.

Liked: they have two adresses and if you arrive on the wrong one they immediately offer you to bring you to the right one. that has been a very nice and warm welcome for me. the hostel is a bit like a first step of long duration staying foreign students, so its very nice and easy to meet new friends. i really enjoyed the stay there.
