Liked: Location, right off the main shopping street and close to everything.

Disliked: Two bathrooms were out of service and the oven. There were pieces of broken ceiling tiles and ducting just lying around. There wasn't always someone at the desk, only when they thought someone would check in.

Disliked: Mouldy and tiny restrooms - only 3 from 5 were open. Hostel looks like in the midlde of reconstruction of old house. when we arrive there was only one locker available for both of us. Staff didnt even know where the keys are. Only one fridge for all hostel was overfilled of old stuff and was horrible dirty and smelly. Hostel should set some rules, cause 2 nights 7 of us were sleeping in the room for 6.

Liked: Very central location, it is only a two minute walk to the metro and to the main shopping street. The staff was helpful, they provide you with information about the city. There are free maps and tourist guide books.

Disliked: The walls of the building are very thin, it can get pretty noisy and it is absolutely impossible to shut the doors quietly. The kitchen is not very clean.

Liked: REally awesome place, lovely and amazingly friendly, it's small so you get really involved in the whole atmosphere and the staff are really personable and remember you pretty quickly which is lovely! Also, the dorm I stayed in is quite open plan, but separated at the same time which helps create a nice atmosphere

Disliked: Absolutely nothing!

Liked: I stayed during Grand Prix weekend where hotels that normally go for $120 is bumped up to $500. This place was perfect at $25/night for a safe place to sleep and being center to the action on Cresant and St. Catherine's st. It is literally a 1 min walk from Guy-Concordia station. Outside of the rooms, facilities are what you expect at other hostels: 4-5 individual bathrooms, a tad old and run down but it did the job and staff kept it as clean as possible. Kitchen and den were basic and simple. Breakfast was cereal, milk, toast with peanut butter or butter. 1 computer for everyone's use. Staff was always friendly and eager to help. The rooms were very clean. I was in the girls room and it had nice hardwood floors, 6 bunk beds made of metal so it was strong, quite wide (twin size) and didn't squeek much at night. Pillow was sufficient with some substance for my head to rest. 1 lamp that was bright enough to light the entire room. Loved having a large locker that allowed me to place my small suitcase in there and comes with a pre-installed lock and key. Bed was comfortable with a lot of overhead space. They had a warm cozy comforter that I melted into at night. So I slept well. Rooms were airconditioned so I was comfortable all night. Even though we were close to the action, at night, the rooms were very quiet and easy to sleep throughout the night. Overall, great value if your purpose is to get some sleep in a clean and safe place that's center to all the action, accessible to the metro, 747 express bus to/from airport (5min walk away).

Disliked: My only dislike was that external from the rooms, no further work has been put into the building: For example: dry walls are still showing (no plaster or paint done. still holes in the wall (probably from drunken rowdy guests who kicked the dry wall). It would truly contribute to the atmosphere and esthetics of the entire hostel with a cheap $200 coat of paint. But this still wouldn't deter me from staying here.

Liked: Really clean, quite small hostel in a great location. Friendly staff, other residents quiet and considerate.

Disliked: quite a lot of the other people in the hostel were people staying long term on exchange programmes or at university so the atmosphere wasn't always suitable for lively backpackers wanting to get to know each other. People more tended to keep themselves to themselves. So really it depends what you want from your hostel experience as to whether this hostel would be right for you!

Liked: Pretty low-cost. Close to the metro station Guy-Concordia (and Tim Hortons coffee just opposite the metro station). Walking from the hostel to downtown leads you through many shops and restaurants/coffee on the way. In the hostel, there's a kitchen with food such as cereals, bread, milk etc (which is the free breakfast, but can be accessed at any time other than the morning). The kitchen is equipped to some extent, so you may also cook.

Disliked: This is not exactly a problem of the hostel, but bear in mind that this is not a huge hostel with lots of rooms. So if you stay there when it's pretty populated, you may have to move around different dorm rooms since there may be groups who book an entire room.

Liked: All the place is very clean. The bathrooms are private, clean and in a good. The female bedroom is very good, with large lockers. The beds are news and the bed clothes new, confortable and clean. The breakfast is very good too, including bread, peanut butter, tea, milk and cereals.

Disliked: The kitchen is little small, and the stove was working just partly. So, sometimes, people need wait around 30 min to cook something.
