Daily Shuttle Service from the Halifax Hostels:
We offer daily shuttle service from the Halifax Hostels right to our doorstep for only $60 per person. Please note you do need to reserve in advance. Call Mariner Shuttle Service for reservations and schedule details ( 1-855-586-6140 ).
The affordable bus option:
Fridays: Take the earlier Maritime Bus to Wolfville or Kentville and take Kings Transit from there. It will take you a while, but the route is scenic and you just halved your total cost for the bus. (Just ask for transfer tickets once you get on the Kings Transit and you will go all the way from Wolfville or Kentville to Digby for $3.50).
By shuttle bus:
Mariners Shuttle offers a discounted rate of $60 to our guests. Daily door-to-door service to/from Halifax, reservations are required.
There are several other daily shuttle services that can pick you up from Halifax (right from where you are staying) and drop you off right at the hostel. Nelson's shuttle, or Kathleen's Shuttle are some of them.
From hwy 101 take exit 26 to Digby. Keep going until you see the Esso gas station on your left hand side. This is Queen Street. You will find us on your right hand side several blocks down.
Travel options from Saint John:
You can also take the ferry from Saint John, New Brunswick, to Digby. This approximately 3 hour ferry ride will bring you right to Digby. Take a taxi from the ferry terminal, as it is a 6 km walk to downtown Digby.
Starting 2014 the new Nova Star Cruises from Yarmouth will create an affordable and comfortable connection with Portland, Maine and beyond. Mariner Shuttle will offer the convenient connection from Digby to the ferry in Yarmouth 5 days a week for only $35, while both Amtrak trains and Concord Coach Lines offer daily connections between Portland and Boston. Leaving Digby in the morning you will find yourself downtown Boston that same evening for less than half the price of a plane ticket! You can also take the convenient overnight ferry from Portland to Yarmouth and find yourself in Nova Scotia the very next morning
