The Hostel Bear's 18 spacious dorm rooms sleep 4-10 guests per room and include privacy curtains, night lights and ensuite bathrooms. Our 9 private rooms each sleep up to 4 guests and include an ensuite bathroom, fresh linens and towels, log-cabin double beds, flowers and exceptional mountain views.

Additional amenities include a fully equipped kitchen, laundry facilities, free wireless access and a large common lounge with plasma T.V.s, fully stocked bar, games room and fire place. Our friendly, helpful staff are here 24 hours a day to ensure your stay exceeds expectations!

Located in beautiful Canmore, Alberta, Canada, The Hostel Bear is only 117 kilometres west of Calgary and 24 kilometres east of Banff, Some of the best trails and terrain in the world (including the Nakiska, Sunshine Village and Lake Louise ski resorts) are easily accessible from our hostel. Canmore itself is a vibrant mountain village whose streets are packed with homegrown bakeries, bookshops, galleries and sporting shops. Year-round the stores are kept busy by the added influx of skiers, hikers and bikers looking eagerly into the surrounding mountains. The soaring peaks, clear lakes and deep forests of the region attract tourists by the hundreds every year.
