Liked: Great location close to Banff (walkable) with close up views of the mountains

Disliked: Attitude of some of the other guests left a bit to be desired.

Liked: The atmosphere was nice especially for hostel environment.

Disliked: I had an unexpected $ 7.00/ person charge because it was busy season that was not disclosed clearly on the web booking. Had I known this I probably would have booked a hotel deal I found for almost the same price with non shared accommodations.

Liked: The HI was a great place to stay, the staff are very friendly and helpfull. There is plenty of space in the rooms and a large kitchen and dinning room. The ice wall is a extra treat and a great challenge for people who have climbed and for those just starting out once again great instructors. Every night there is something to do in the bar and the free bus pass helps getting in to town for all the other little bits. Sunday night Pub crawl !!!!!!!

Disliked: I lovely place to stay and it's not a five star hotel but it is a great hostel.

Liked: The free parking and the free pancake breakfast if you book on Hostelbookers. The staff were very friendly as well.

Disliked: The rooms were a little stuffy and no one really talks to anyone and screaming backpackers running up and down the hallway.

Liked: Free breakfast everymorning (Really good pancake breakfast) , cheap pub downstairs with great atmosphere and activites on every night. Internet was good, Staff were really nice, kitchen was really lovely. It was out of town but the walk was by no means unpleasent and it only takes a little planning not to miss the bus.

Disliked: Not really anything to complain about.

Liked: Breakfast was ace, as it was pancakes from the cafe - no washing up! Friendly and helpful staff

Disliked: Paying for the computer terminal usage was crap but we had laptop and free wireless anyway

Liked: Everything was great all the staff were extremely helpful and everybody was super friendly, has a great atmosphere, i will defiently stay here again ! Made some awesome friends too.

Liked: Clean and a great base to explore the Rockies - staff are excellent.

Disliked: Could have more fun corridors perhaps? Seriously - I had no issues.

Liked: Staff were great, very friendly and helpful. About a 10 min walk from town, but the hostel will give you a free bus pass for the bus that stops just outside.

Disliked: Room smelled kind of funky, & was a bit overpriced for what it was.

Liked: Friendly staff. Showers never seemed to be occupied!

Disliked: Room obviously hadn't been cleaned in a long while and there was no power to the reading lights or the plug sockets. The free breakfast is OK, but nothing too special.

Liked: Nice building, Has a restaurant at decente prices, has a bar with pool table!

Disliked: Three story high building that houses many people, but it only has one batcroom on each floor for men and one for women. It very inconvenient to take a shower in the mornings or night. Due to the high traaffic of people the interior of the building has a bad smell. My wife wanted to stay in this hostel even though the price was twice more of what I payed the week before in another hostel, therefore I ended up paying as if I was in a fancy hotel. We wated to go to sleep around 10 PM because we were backpacking every day around 16 to 20 kilometers, it was impossible to sleep due to the high traffic of "boys and girls" slaming doors laughing and screaming aloud all night. The place is a party, I think its ideal for young men and women that look for that type of environment, I would not recommend it for adults that are in the area to hiking or backpacking, even if they go just for resting.

Liked: It did the job. It's big and when we couldn't find a B&B we still could find vacant beds there. It was clean & safe.

Disliked: It was quite out of town even with a car and finding the place to begin with was not easy, I'm not sure how long it would have taken using public transport - probably even more. The main get-together area was their bar. They did not have a common room as you can find in many hostels round the world, so if I was traveling alone and wanted to sit down and meet people I couldn't really.

Disliked: slow breakfast service, expensive breakfast if you dont fancy pancakes but the pancakes where the best yet

Liked: Beside of nature.

Disliked: I stayed a room for 4 people, the room was clean, a shower room was comfortable. I liked sitting on a chair in the balcony. Pancakes were very delicious.

Disliked: I stayed a room for 6 people this time. A bed light was very dark, and shower room was not comfortable. A dryer was broken.
