Big John's Beach On The Hill BBQ & Chil-axn Hostel

Formely NIKA, with ocean views & sea breezes, no floods or tsunami here, Big John, the self estranged Australian, of Bangkok Hostel infamy, is doing it again, only bigger & better. From the awesome views at Beach On The Hill BBQ on the roof, to large communal entertainment area on the lower level you'll find Chil-axn.com the ideal place to chill & relax with old & new friends, in between enjoying the near by beach, bars, restaurants & night life, frequented by friendly locals & tourists.

Located close to the bus station, beach (800m), port and Post Office, with lone travelers as well as couples, groups, friends and family in mind. Cambodia, Asian & Western, everyone, as long as they have ID, is welcome here. No soft foam - wake up with a back ache - mattresses here, all ours are firm inner sprung.

Free Beer Coupon on Check in, when you ask.. 50cent beers 6-7pm daily. Buy 3 get 1 Free beers nightly 9-10pm. All you can eat BBQ buffet $5.00 Wed 6-8pm.

We now also have a sandpit on the roof, which, as with the sun chairs, can be used to lay in the sun, as a kids play pit or for larger kids to play petanque / boules. Not forgetting the round board for people who want to practice throwing sharp objects/darts.

Accommodation Information

The building has recenetly been renovated, all the rooms are big, have natural light/windows, private bathrooms and as much as they are available for single or double use are able to accommodate 3, 4 or even 5 people for just a few dollars extra per person. We also have Female and Mixed dorms. All the rooms have dead locks on the doors. Free high speed, fiber optic internet and wifi. There are also cctv cameras throughout the building for added security and lockers to keep your most valuable items safe.

Location Information

Victory Hill, near Victory beach. Not far from the bus station, restaurants and night life, as well as the port, for those travelling to Islands, like Koh Ru and Koh Rong. Not forgetting the awesome view of the surrounding area and the ocean.

We're also right next to Steve's, ex Phnom Penh - Frog & Parrot, Whiskey Bar and Guesthouse, where you can rent or buy DVD's to play on the LCD TV in the guest communal entertainment area.

We now also have a few bicycles for rent for those who are looking for the challenge, thrill and pleasure of riding up and down hills and along the coast road.
