Liked: Really freindly staff. Good atmosfere. Clean. Comfy and big beds. God food but little prisy. Nice bar on the roof top. One of the best places I've stayed the last 8 months..

Liked: Staff are SO friendly and theres immediately a very nice atmosphere. I thought it was all party party but its both relaxed and party! The food is great and drinks well priced. And the service is the best ive experienced in Cambodia so far. Clean rooms and sheets and great bathroom! Many other toilets dotted around. Sunset bar and a restaurant bar provides a good choice.

Disliked: Nothing huge to dislike. Little nags include: - a fair amoun of stairs to sunse bar (but obviously its a roof bar!) - food is slightly overpriced but its amazing! - visa for vietnam quite expensive ($65) they should look into lowering this

Liked: Not getting a free breakfast that would have been crap. Roof top bar closed at a reasonable time. Happy hour was fine. menu was okay. Staff didn't know about the exercise time at the stadium. 5.30pm if you are wondering. It was fun to watch

Disliked: Sheets had holes in them. A mini fridge would have been great like in other places at the same price. We stayed in a private room.-$10 each per night. Worth it.

Liked: The Mad Monkey Hostel in Phnom Penh is a fun hostel with a happy and helpful crew. They have a nice bar, and the beds are big and comfortable. Many of the sights around the city like the S21 Prison, the Royal Palace and the Central Market is within walking distance. Mad Monkey has everything you'll need. They serve good (although not the cheapest) food, they do laundry and they'll help you book tours or transport. I met lots of great people here, and really enjoyed my stay in PP!

Disliked: You are supposed to be offered a free beer upon arrival, but they tend to "forget" about this. Just needed to ask for it though, so not really a problem .

Liked: friendly staff, creatively decorated interior/painted walls/floors, restaurant and rooftop terrace

Disliked: the rooftop bar closed at 11 pm?! a little far from the major attractions, but not an unreasonable walking distance (or a cheap tuktuk ride away) the restaurant prices are kind of expensive for phnom penh..

Disliked: Staying so close to rooftop bar proved to be really loud at night. I also witnessed the dog urinate on the bar floor.

Liked: Cannot fault the place. Really good buzz. Excellent bar and some of the best staff I have come across in a hostel (or hotel for that matter). Really friendly and the roof top bar is superb

Liked: Nice rooftop bar, but they shut down around 11pm so people can sleep.

Disliked: A little bit outside the centre, but still close by tuk tuk to clubs, bars, cheap food and attractions

Liked: I enjoyed the atmosphere at Mad Monkey and the rooftop bar / restaurant was a great place to meet other people staying at the hostel. The staff were friendly and fairly helpful, although for transport they always offered the more expensive options before mentioning the cheaper ones. The rooms were large, as were the beds. For the price, Mad Monkey is a good option, especially if you are keen to meet other travellers.

Disliked: My bed was pretty uncomfortable.

Disliked: The restaurant was a bit overpriced and slow with the service. The food was ok.

Liked: The food was great at their restaurant although very overpriced. The staff was very friendly and some were helpful. The beds were comfy. The bar closed at 11pm so noise wasn't an issue.

Disliked: I booked a six bed dorm and got a 20 bed. The AC in this room doesn't work well and the first night I kept waking up sweating. We told them about it but not sure if it's helped. The top bunks are extremely hot in the middle rooms. People can come and go out of the dormas there's no lock on the door which could be a problem, especially with the bar next door. The bar would be fun but it's hotter up there than it is outside. The food is terribly priced at the restaurant. Toast is the same price as toast and eggs for example. It doesn't seem like they cater to backpackers but travellers.

Liked: I've been traveling for the last 13 months now and that's one of the best hostels I've stayed. clean, comfy , nice rooftop bar and the friendliest stuff ever.. awesome food even when the food is kinda overpriced for the standards if Cambodia but you can still have an english breky with juice an coffe for 8 dollar..they shut the door at night an have 24 hours security. There r always tuk-tuks available an for just 2 bucks u r in the center.. in my opinion it would be foolish to stay somewhere else in Phnom Penh..

Disliked: Better book in advance..

Liked: When I read about it online everyone said it was kind of fair from the tourist stuff so I stayed closer to there. It was horrible. It's not far at all from the tourist stuff but is a much better stay. Highly recommended.

Liked: Facilities. Location. Atmosphere. Food. Bar.

Disliked: Chumminess of the staff playing like they are all just one big happy family was overdone. Staff often hanging out in the rooms with the guests, siting on guests beds. Upon checkin, we actually found a staff member sleeping in one of our beds in the middle of the day. The shared bathroom in our room was also being shared with people from other rooms.

Liked: It's a good atmosphere if you're travelling alone, with nice communal areas to hang out in. The staff are very friendly and the rooms are clean.

Disliked: I think it's a little overpriced for what it is, $20 for a private ensuite room is more expensive than other hostels in Phnom Penh, the food is also over priced. But, given the atmosphere and helpfulness of the staff, maybe it's a good compromise.

Liked: Really awesome place to stay to meet people. There's always something going on at this place. Rooms are comfortable and secure. Location isn't great for places like the central market and riverside but with cheap taxis it's not a big problem.

Liked: it is a really cool place to stay, meet people, meet the staff...the laid back atmosphere, the nice rooms, the amazing food and the range of activities offered are highly recommended!

Disliked: the location is not very very central, but still it is in a quiet neighbourhood from where everything is easily accesibly
