Liked: The room was pretty good, comfortable bed, wifi, and great AC. The location is also excellent, directly next to the Royal Palace and National Museum. The staff is very friendly. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the loud, friendly, and brash owner, who fended of the tuk tuk driver that was hounding us. A free beer followed, which was the perfect touch after a long journey.

Disliked: Be aware that this is a bar and restaurant first and a hotel second. Walking in, you wouldn't even know that they offered rooms. So you will miss out on amenities such as a community computer, travel services, or a quiet common room. An older crowd frequents the bar. Thus, this is not recommended for families or young people looking for a place to meet fellow travelers.

Liked: Great central location, friendly tuk-tuk driver, owned by a couple of welcoming American guys. Good place if you want to sit round with other westerners drinking cheap beer.

Disliked: Continual loud music - earplugs are an absolute must else you won't get a single wink of sleep. Flew in on an overnighter so crashed as soon as I arrived - I woke up at 6am and the music was still loud and the party still going. If that's your cup of tea then you'll love Rory's, if not, I'd stay away.

Liked: Very quiet for an Irish pub in the middle of Phnom Penh! Good location. Good value compared with other accommodation in PP.

Disliked: Only slightly annoying thing was that the fan was so noisy you couldn't watch TV, and the curtains were very thin so I found it difficult to get to sleep with the light coming in from the corridor.

Liked: Good location 2 minutes from the riverfront and all the bars and restaurants. We had the room on the top floor so this was quieter away from the pub noise. The pub was typical irish decor and ok for a few drinks.

Disliked: We booked 2 nights on hostelbookers but they only had one available for us and shipped us off to a hotel 2 doors down which was actually better. However, we got woken up at 6am each morning because of a new building going up a few doors down so you can't sleep after that. We thought there would be a younger crowd hanging around but there were lots of older men so not as described on the website. When we arrived as well we didn't feel very welcomed or feel like we could ask questions. However, they got a lot chattier after drinking all night.

Liked: Great staff made it a very enjoyable place to stay, the food was great and we ate everything on the menu. Was close to cafe/ resturant strip, night clubs, and palace/ museum. Because it had the pub down stairs, it made a great place to meet other travelers. We changed our plans and came back twice, had a great time laughing when the owner kept drinking my friends beer then he bought us the next round. Recomend the car bomb drink, but not with baileys:-)

Disliked: We had to leave!

Liked: Very close to everything (especially the main tourist strip), Rod was very friendly and welcoming

Disliked: Smelled mouldy, extensive water damage on the walls of the bathroom and bedroom, sink leaked, lots of ants, air conditioner leaked badly enough that a puddle formed outside the door to our room, pub downstairs can be noisy (but it's fine if you've got ear plugs)

Liked: They organised a local tuk tuk driver to go to the bus office on outskirts of town to collect us for $2, which greatly appreciated as the heavens opened upon arrival! We also booked a city tour with the same driver who brought us to the killing fields, genocide museum, russian market etc. Room was ok with great aircon, ceiling fan, a fridge with free water bottles each day, tv with decent channels and ensuite. Location was great, across the road from the palace and river is at the end of the street.

Disliked: Although the accommodation is satisfactory it probably shouldn't be classed as a guesthouse, more like a pub with rooms available for rent. The owners aren't usually available to ask advice and when they are you sometimes get the feeling you are taking them away from socialising with their friends in the bar. We had dinner in the pub the 1st night and it left a lot to be desired, especially considering the price. Breakfast not included and after the previous night's meal we went to the cafe 2 or 3 doors to the left and got great food and service each morning of our stay.

Liked: This place we kept coming back to again and again and when we couldnt book the last night as it was full, found ourselves down stairs having a few beers for the atmosphere. The staff are amazing and the beers and foods are really good and cheap also. I think we ate our way through most the cambodian food menu during our time and there wasnt one dinner we did not enjoy. This is the type of accommodation you talk about as making the holiday so much better for staying in. There are many places to stay in PP but if you like a beer or 2 and a few laughs the wonderful crew there (Chad, Rod, Seangly, Mom etc) will always have a story or 2 for you and always willing to help in any ways they can. Book in and convince Chad to expand to make more rooms available!!!

Disliked: Wasnt enough rooms to let us stay the last night we had in Cambodia before flying out.
