Liked: I arrived very late in the night but receptionist led me to my room via phone. Very helpful and friendly staff, very comfy bed and perfect location right in the middle of the city centre, everything is easy to reach. Very good breakfast, which is served in the rustical basement.

Disliked: The building looks very deterrent, especially in the night. Doors and walls are thin - you can hear everything from other rooms and at the corridors. Besides this I can't complain - very good place to stay!

Liked: Arrived late and receptionist waited for us and then phoned us to explain how to get in because we were 3 hours later than we said we would be and it was nearly 10 at night. Very helpful staff. Clean. Good breakfast. Room was big and modern as were the facilities. Quiet

Liked: Overall I had a good experience at this hostel. The 8 bed dorm was newly furnished and quite pleasant. Breakfast was really good - homemade yoghurt and everything included. The staff were helpful and friendly. They could organise a private tour to Rila Monastery or other locales. The location was good. Right near the start of the free Sofia walking tours.

Disliked: I really didn't like the bathroom. There was just one tiny toilet cubicle with a handheld shower head. You showered over the toilet.

Liked: Very helpful and dedicated staff, friendly athmosphere that made us feel welcome. Lots of free maps and other helpful material at the reception to help you visit Sofia. Nice all-you-can eat breakfast, spacious double room. Laundry service was cheap and returned my clothes very professionally washed and ironed. Fortunately a non-party hostel - we loved that because we were living intensively and needed our rest. However, party animals will find dozens of bars and cafes within walking distance.

Disliked: Long wait for toilet and shower. Only one shower/bathroom on each floor. They're constantly in use so not well ventilated.

Liked: The Hostel Lavele was definately the best choice for us. Located in the middle of the city center (though no traffic noise at all) you reach all the sights including the bus station on foot, which really makes the difference in Sofia, because lots of other hostels are far-off the center. The hostel is young and has a unique design, the breakfast was OUTSTANDING. Fresh filter coffee, tasty jam, vegetables if you like. The beds are heaven. Very nice place indeed.

Liked: The breakfast was good and the location was great.

Disliked: There was no common area. The bathroom was not clean. And the rooms were very noisy.

Liked: The breakfast buffet was included and they made their own yoghurt and bread which was really tasty!! They also offer cereal, jams and cheese and sausage..coffee and tea. Location was perfect..close to sights. They kept luggage for free.

Liked: Great location, helpful staff (Mario), big spacious and clean rooms with no bunk beds, all the facilities you need.

Liked: Lovely hostel, amazing value for money. You got a good breakfast in the morning, and the dorms are very decent: good bunk beds, sofa to relax on.

Disliked: toilet and shower were in the same cubicle, and showers didn't drain very well.

Liked: Hostel Lavele is located very central. The room was nice, the rooms with a balcony are the best i think. The breakfast is served in the cellar which is a bit dark, but the breakfast itself makes up for it! Staff is very friendly and helpfull, nice people!

Liked: Really a super hostel! Nice high-ceiling rooms with wooden floors and a good breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff. The location couldn't be better!

Liked: That there were beds rather than bunk beds. The location was good and the staff were helpful.

Disliked: The bedroom door creaked loads so woke you up everytime it was opened. The toilet was in the shower room there wasn't really a curtain and water ran all over the floor. There were no seperate reading lights.

Liked: It's a neat place, the double room was cozy and big enough, we also had air conditioning. Close to the main sigts of the city. Helpful staff. Great breakfast!

Liked: The breakfast was excellent! Besides from the outstanding breakfast, we had a very good night in cozy beds in room with aircondition. Our mixed dorm was equipped with a couch and a table. The location is perfect: It is in the very center of Sofia.

Disliked: There is a nice and cool (great in summertime) common room, where also the breakfast is served. However, it is located in the basement and equipped with chairs and tables (no couches).

Liked: It was cheap and included breakfast. The staff were bright and friendly and the rooms were clean and airy.

Disliked: Some of the bathrooms were dirty and a tiny bit smelly. I know that it's a hostel, and it's cheap, but I think that a clean bathroom is essential for a good stay.
