Liked: Nightingale's staff were extremely helpful. Even when we had a question in the middle of the night the owner was on the phone with us giving us directions to the Rila Monastery (highly recommended). Everyone was friendly, food was good, and the location can't be beat.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: Great location in the middle of town.

Disliked: Rooms all open off the central reception/common area so can be noisy if people are arriving or staying up late at night.

Liked: the friendly atmosphere between staff and travelers - it felt like a commune where everyone trusts each other. The internet was free. The shower head had good pressure and the water was nice and hot. We were given free maps of the city center and a lot of information on where to visit.

Disliked: The breakfast was greasy and gave my sister a stomach ache. The blankets weren't warm enough on the cold nights. But for the price we paid, this was to be expected.

Liked: Very nice hostel... Short pleasant and easy walk from train and bus station, excellent location, very helpful and friendly staff, great and cheap food on request, wifi everywhere and a great common room with a flat screen cable tv- Perfect!

Disliked: I didnt stay long enough !

Liked: Such friendly staff and very helpful too, showed us where to eat and hooked us up with special deals. One of the ladies made a bulgarian cheese yogurt pastry and gave us some at about 12am. On top of that the place is in the best location and is an excellent price. Ended up staying for 3 more nights.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The hostel was one of the best I have stayed in. The owner and staff were friendly, took time to explain things about Sofia to us and made us feel like we were visiting a Bulgarian family. Large common room, Wifi, washing machine and left luggage. Tours are also run from the hostel. Comfortable and close to everything. Not a crazy party place, just a nice relaxed place to enjoy Bulgarian hospitality.

Disliked: The directions there were not quite accurate. From the train station get off the tram 18 at the 6th stop, follow the tram line in the same direction you are already travelling until you see the book market (5mins but you cant see it) and then you will see the DM building and the hostel is signed in the alley beside.

Liked: really familiar and friendly atmosphere(Misha and wife will take care of you), excellent location, clean and all facilities provided, and last but not least : excellent value for money. So I definitely reccomend this place to all people who want to spend some time in Sofia. A tutti quelli che vogliono trascorrere un po' di tempo a Sofia, questo e' il posto giusto : pulito, atmosfera familiare, posizione perfetta in centro citta', internet e tutto quello di cui avrete bisogno. Qualita' prezzo ovviamente eccellente Consigliato a tutti!!!

Disliked: Check out time is 2 which is irritating if you have a bus which gets in early - but they did give me somewhere to put my bags.

Liked: When u stay in this hostel,u feel yourself like at home. The atmosphere is really friendly,u cannot be bored there,on the other side,it is really quiet and calm)

Liked: waffles for breakfast, nice livingroom, good location. free wifi and occasional free beers. overall good feeling, friendly staff who checked train schedules for me.

Disliked: hostel instructs not to take taxi from bus or train station, but their pick up service means they call one of those very taxis to drive u. the taxi was about 3,5 levas. hostel then charges 8 levas. but its stil not expensive of course. owner is an interesting character, a bit flirty towards women, but perhaps just to be nice. i still recommend the place.

Liked: The hostel in the center is very friendly.

Disliked: The guesthouse is out of the center. The bathroom was not clean. It was on the 6. floor, elevator doesn't work...

Liked: Good location and cooking facilities.

Disliked: I felt the owner cared less about customer care and more about squeezing every penny from the guests. For example when the hostel was overbooked and two people had to share a bed, he offered the person with no bed a discount rather than the requested refund, even though they received no services, and only after threatening bad reviews did he concede to a refund. The price of stay kept increasing over the week I stayed, and the advertised "full breakfast" consisted of some cereal. The problems encountered were many.

Liked: I have stayed at many hostels in my years traveling and the Nightengale was in the top three. It felt like home within minutes of walking in. A feeling that is hard to find traveling long term. The owner is from Sofia, friendly, funny, and a genuine person. You couldnt ask for better accommodations. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Nightengale if you are traveling in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Liked: This place is dirt cheap! Don't expect it to be super clean, quiet or your stuff secure but it's an excellent location and the staff are really friendly and have the best intentions. They don't seem to keep up with their hostel bookers reservations, so just keep that in mind! If possible, call ahead just in case. I still recommend this place though, met some interesting people and has a friendly vibe.

Disliked: Nothing is awful here, you get what you pay for.
