Sampa Hostel

Sampa Hostel was created three years ago for folks who want to enjoy their trip while receiving a special service in a home-like atmosphere for a great price. Our daily rate includes a delicious breakfast, free wireless internet, linens and parking lot.
Sampa Hostel is a large and comfortable house, with a spacious entertainment area, large bedrooms separated male and female, as well as a kitchen for common use and a great patio where you can lay on a hammock or enjoy your meals.

Sampa Hostel's specialised staff speak Portuguese, English and Spanish. They can give you a lot of information about what to do in Sao Paulo.
Besides our excellent rates, the most unique quality of Sampa Hostel is its location in the heart of Vila Madalena, located on the west region of the city. Nearby, there is a subway line (Vila Madalena Station) as well as a bus terminal from which you can access the best of what Sao Paulo has to offer.
Vila Madalena is considered the coolest area of Sao Paulo and known as the site of its best night life. It hosts numerous bars, restaurants, discos, and the traditional Samba School named Perola Negra, and during the day the guests can enjoy delicious restaurants, coffee shops, museums, wonderful art galleries, clothing stores, as well as antique and vintage shops, all located within walking distance from the hostel.

Accommodation Information

The rooms are airy, with comfortable mattresses, bed linen and blankets. All dorms have individual lockers inside the room (with padlock), fans and socket (110V), are separated from women and men and have spacious private bathrooms.
The TV room is spacious, comfortable and features cable TV, DVD movies, board games, book exchange worldwide, national and international magazines, as well as a place especially for those who want to use wireless laptops.

For guests who do want to check out but leave the bags until the time of flight or bus, we have a luggage storage and for those who are driving has parking on site that holds up to 6 cars and motorcycles, (does not include bus and Small bus), without additional cost to the price.

The kitchen is open for guests to use and equipped with refrigerator, stove, microwave and kitchen equipment. The barbecues are organised by Sampa Hostel or by the guests, that have free use of the barbecue, as well as the pool table.

Location Information

Vila Madalena is one of the trendiest neighborhoods in São Paulo. It is located on the district of Alto de Pinheiros, on the West side of town and very close to the subway. Vila Madalena station is the last station of the green subway line, right next to the bus terminal station.

During the day you can enjoy delicious restaurants, coffee shops, museums, wonderful art galleries, fashion shops and local art shops. At night you can enjoy its great night life either at the bars, restaurants, discos, as well as the traditional Samba School called Pérola Negra.

Another very interesting and most unique characteristic of Vila Madalena are the streets’ names. They are lyrical names, like: Harmony, Sunflower, Glitter, Wizard, Original and son on. This characteristic promotes some interesting corner’s names like "Harmony with Sunflower" or “Wizard with Glitter”. According to history, these streets were named by students’ suggestions who used to attend the anarchist movement at that time. The idea to have these poetics names for the streets was to break the tradition of always honoring public authorities when naming São Paulo’s streets.

Nowadays, the region has a considering concentration of ateliers, art exhibitions, music festivals and local art. Vanguard shops, music schools and theater schools are also concentrated at Vila Madalena.
