Liked: Excellent location. It is THE place to be for the big party on the Pelhourino on Tuesday nghts. Flexible staff. Fantastic breakfast. Great bar downstairs.

Liked: What an amazing staff!! They were VERY friendly and went out there way to make us feel welcome. Warm smiles, great attitudes, and completely understanding when we arrived at 5:30am in the morning due to a delay in our flight.

Disliked: Customer left no negative feedback.

Liked: Great staff and atmosphere! Excellent location next to Pelorunho. On Thuesday great street party with live music just in front of the hostel. Delicious breakfast, the best in Brazil. Highly recommended!

Liked: The hostel is in a great location in the Pelourhino, right next to the street party on a Tuesday nights as well as everything else in town. We never felt unsafe here and the hostel feels very secure. Its extremely clean.. I saw the showers, toilets, floors, walls etc being scrubbed from top to bottom everyday without exception! There is a basic (but again very clean) kitchen and a tv room with excellent DVD selection. On top of all this the staff were amazing!!! Hector (the owner) and Olivia on reception went out of their way to help us through out our stay and always had great advice on where to see the best Samba or Reggae action.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Delicious breakfast and the friendliness of most of the staff (it depends from person to person)

Disliked: Kitchen is too small, no working space and hardly no place to sit and enjoy your meal, also too little equipment The common room is also a little to small for the amount of people in the hostel.

Liked: Almost center of old city. 5min walk to Praca da Se. I am a male solo traveller and I did not feel any security problem. Reception people is very friendly and clean lady(she also cook breakfast) too. And yes, best breakfast in my travel in Brazil!!!

Liked: Everyone was EXTREMEY helpful and ginuinely nice. The owner was always there and very open and cool. The Breakfast was pretty amazing and true to discription... the best I had while in Brazil. The location was lovely if you want to be in the middle of things and you want to be close to the Capoeira Forte. I would definitely stay there again. I only planned on two days and stayed for 4. Oh and they had free filtered water! cha-ching!

Disliked: That I could not stay longer.

Liked: The staff are awesome and very helpful! Hector, the owner, took us on a long walk around town, which was great, because we got to see a lot of things that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. The breakfast here is incredible! You get so much food, and it all tastes so good! The location is perfect, since it is close to San Antonio with a lot of great and cheap restaurants and the squares og the elevador where you can get to the lower part of Salvador. There is also free internet and wifi at the hostel, which i think is more than a lot of hostels have.

Disliked: Everything was so nice, so i didn't dislike anything :)

Liked: The location is great to watch the weekly tuesday night mini festival- it is located on the steps where everyone gathers to dance and watch the music. You can watch it all from your bedroom window and take pictures without worrying about having anything stolen in the crowds. The TV room is good with lots of DVD's. The breakfast is excellent- white rolls, cheese, ham, (toastie's), melon, mango, papaya, pineapple, fried eggs, tomatoes, cucumber, cake, biscuits, coffee, tea: the lot!! The staff are also helpful. We walked to the hostel during the day when we got off the bus, maybe it would be wise to take a taxi to it in the dark.

Disliked: The kitchen is very limited, it has a fridge, cooker, utensils and a sink (all very clean and perfect working order) but no work tops for cutting up/prep, no microwave and no-where really to sit down and eat dinner. There are only 2 toilets and 2 showers as well. But this was not a problem for us. We checked out other hostels in the area and the standard of dorms all seem to be fairly similar, but this was clean and came with a kitchen so we stayed here.

Liked: Great location and really nice accommodation with friendly helpful staff.

Disliked: Hygiene not 100% (there was a cockroach in my room) and some of the sinks / showers were not fully functional.

Liked: This hostel makes huge difference about image of Salvador city - improved our staying in Salvador for 300%. Great staff, delicious breakfast, happy hour caipirinha, great location if you like charming city center hostels - even if you prefer beach hostels don't miss this hostel on Tuesday night-it's located in the hearth of Pelourinho's street party!

Liked: I have to say Hostel Cobreu is one of the best hostels I have stayed at. The location is perfect for exploring the pelourino. The staff there are all very helpful, speak perfect English and man the desk 24/7 so no nightwatchmen to deal with. The owners are a lovely couple (I hate it when I read this) but they really are and they will go out of their way for you to enjoy your stay. For instance, taking us out until 5am on Friday night. Honestly makes a big impact on your stay. The hostel has the best breakfasts with fresh fruits, omlettes, rolls on offer. I dont normally wake up for breakfasts but those in the know were also raving about the breakfasts. The bar downstairs is a great place to meet up with people, and serves very nice food. Its small but a proper bar where outsiders can come for a drink - not a desk with a few bottles on it like some othe places Has a lounge area to chill out and an extensive movie catalogue. First review I have written - really really like this place.

Disliked: The dorms can get a bit hot so air con would have been nice.
