Liked: Great staff, amazing big free breakfast, owner is very helpful, great location, free caipirinha hour!

Disliked: Common areas are a little cramped but is good in the way of meeting people.

Liked: Great breakfast is included and the staff are very helpful and friendly and organized our airport transfer for us. Room was spacious and clean. The hostel has a sister restaurant ´`Zulu` which serves good food at reasonable prices and gives a discount to those who stay in the hostel. Location is in a good safe part of town and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Liked: I really liked this hostel in general. It has everything. Def the place to stay in Salvador.

Liked: the locatin was great! all the staff absolutely helpful - they really always knew what was going on in the city! brand new mattresses and simple but clean bathroom. breakfast till 12 am with very delicious fruits. WiFi was also working the dorms.

Disliked: if you eat in Pauls restaurant Zulu you need to waatch out that you don`t pay more than you have to (you get 10% discount on certain dishes). sometimes paul can be a bit annoying coz he`s always around and seems to know everything.

Liked: Great helpful staff, lots of suggestions of music to check out, things to do in the city, great late breakfasts, air con in rooms, central location, good environment to hang out and meet other travelers, and a general relaxed atmosphere. Good base to explore Pelourinho! The pool is nice too for the hot days in Salvador. Enjoyed my stay!

Liked: The breakfast is really good and you can hang around talking to other travellers. The staff go out of their way to please you and have a good idea of what things are on each day.

Liked: its a very bautiful place, with pool an terrace. The rooms have aircondition. The breakfast is very rich, with different fruits, ham and cheese and bread.....

Liked: We loved this hostel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were helpful and friendly - giving great suggestions for things to do, handy tips about Salvador and the best events of the evening. The hostel is in the perfect location - right in the heart of Pelourinho and within walking distance to bars, restaurants, theatres, samba and capoeira classes and many of the main sights in the city. Despite being in the middle of the action, the hostel feels safe and secure. The dorms were cleaned every day and were nicely spacious, with lockers for valuables. The breakfast was amazing and available until 12, which is always a bonus! There was a really friendly and relaxed atmosphere, allowing us to meet lots of other travellers. The team at Hostel Galeria 13 helped us to make the most of our experience in Salvador - a great place to stay!!!

Liked: Location is excellent. Cleaning staff are incredible and very nice breakfast and loads of information on what to do and where to go- very helpful and informative.

Disliked: The room had no air con and the fans were extremely loud at night. So sleeping was a real problem. Also as the room was at the front you you have the noise of the gate slamming throughout the night as the window has to be open... No lockers for bags and some of the small lockers for personal effects were damaged and broken. 2 huge dogs in a small hostel just doesn't work- dogs take away from what could be a chilled out easy going hostel. The place has a lot going for it- there was just an edge of uncomfortableness sometimes and maybe a bit dingy.

Liked: Excellent location at the historic center and apart from the crowded streets. Stuff is a great and frindly. Great breakfast until midday, swimming pool and etc. There are hot water in the shower (may be only this hostel in during my Brazil trip)

Disliked: It is not enough space, but all you need is there.

Liked: Really nice place to stay, as it says here in hostelbookers.com!! I went this year for the second time, because really like the area the hostel is located, the breakfast is really good as well!!

Liked: If you are in Salvador stay here! Lovely place, good to meet other travellers and save. Breakfast is delicious! And of course the dogs, they´re awsome!!! I really liked this place!!!

Liked: this place was very friendly and accommodating. the owner is very interactive and nice. i mostly spoke with ruth who is very friendly and helpful. the staff definitely made me feel at home and safe.

Disliked: the location is good but traveling by foot can be difficult, especially if you have a lot of baggage. however, the overall location is great. its right in the middle of a lot of activity!
