Liked: the location was perfect, stay there on 2 occasions, first occasion was in a provate room and thats was great, the second occasion was in the dorm. Breakfast is brilliant - fruits, cakes, ham, cheese, juice, hot drinks, etc

Disliked: The dorm has no socket for charging your items, the air con is between 9pm and 9am and the hottest part of the day is around 12 noon and 5pm, and you pay for an air con room or dorm! There is a fan in the room, but the room I stayed in had a broken fan. The dorms are also segregrated, female dorms are on the 1st floor and male dorms on the 2nd floor, they have no mixed dorms (when I asked).

Liked: There were always people having a few drinks downstairs in the afe in the evening, which made it really easy to meet other travellers. The hostel is also very central, and you can walk to the bus station, the Lacerda lift and most places of interest.

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: The decoration and the fact that there's a restaurant linked to the hostel, so you can just go down and grab a bite to eat.

Liked: Nice location, clean hostel. Staff not 100% friendly, I felt a client (as I am) and not a guest. The morning I arrived (at 730 am) after an overnight bus, they denied me the breakfast, because my check in was officially at 12 that day... nothing terrible but that makes an idea of the way they treat guests... ANyway, the location is great and value for money good, I reccomend it.

Liked: Really lovely friendly staff - and they were local, which I found unusual for a hostel in Brazil. Also situated directly opposite a samba school so plenty of free shows on the street!
