Beach hotel in ‘Praia de Jauá,’ is situated north of Salvador da Bahia at the Estrada do Coco with one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil. We offer guests spacious bungalows (suites) with verandas and hammocks, a pool, restaurant and bar. We also offer airport transportation, excursions a taxi service and car rental.

At the ‘Hotel Lagoa e Mar’ we speak English, German, Spanish, Portuguese is situated in a tropical garden on the banks of a natural lake and offer twelve spacious circular bungalows (app. 40 m²).

The complex has a swimming pool with a separate pool for small children, sun terrace (with bed chairs and sunshades), bar with reading-room, playground and a restaurant. Internet access and local phone calls (fixed only) are free for guests.

Accommodation price includes a rich breakfast. Our restaurant offers a wide range of Bahian and international cuisine. Bahian specialties at the coast (Litoral Norte) are mainly seafood: fish, shrimps (small and large), calamari, lobster and so on, fried or as 'moqueca', that means boiled in a coconut milk sauce with vegetables and spices. Beef, mutton, chicken, spaghetti, vegetarian dishes and salads complete our menu. And there are snacks for the small appetite.

Please note there are packages with a minimum stay for Carnival week (6 nights) and between Christmas/New Year that can not be broken. You need to stay the whole of the minimum stay. Even if the booking engine will allow you to book, bookings that are not for the whole of the period will be cancelled and the deposit amount not refunded.

Besides this, there is a minimum cancellation period of 30 days and advanced payment of the package is required. If you cancel less than 30 days in advance you'll loose your deposit.

Accommodation Information

Each bungalow (suite) contains a bedroom with double bed (king size), fan and TV, a living room with two couch beds, radio and refrigerator, a separate bathroom with WC and shower and a veranda complete with a hammock and seats, offering enough room for up to three adults. Four bungalows are specially adapted for people with wheel-chairs.

Recover on the mile long stretch of sand and relax in the ‘nearly all-year’ warm sea at one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil, Praia de Jauá (says magazine GEO, Spain!)

The beach of Jauá is situated north of Salvador da Bahia at the 'Estrada do Coco' surrounded by snow like white dunes. It is very popular. At some parts reefs form natural pools when the tide is out, allowing you to swim even near high waves. The southern and northern beaches are almost deserted and invite you to explore with long walks.

In Jauá itself there are even more restaurants, bars, supermarkets and other shopping facilities; visitors can sample a host of Bahian food and drinks in any of the more than forty beach pavilions.

There is a regular bus service between Jauá and Salvador and some neighbouring villages (not at night). We offer airport transportation and taxi-service and car rental is available.
