Liked: It's a great location for most of what you want to do in Rio. A real alternative to staying down by the beaches - which are all easily accessable from Santa Terresa by bus. I would describe this as quality B&B rather than a hostel, with knowledgable and welcoming hosts.

Liked: We loved Vila CasaNova - the guesthouse itself is beautiful and the owners are very friendly, full of information about the local area and the city in general and make you feel right at home. Santa Teresa feels very relaxed, not overrun with hostels and foreign tourists, and all the main sights of Rio are easily accessible.

Liked: The people whole own the hostel (Zaba and Manu) are lovely and very helpful. The hostel itself is very relaxing and beautifully set out.

Liked: The owners adobt a caring attitude to their guests, breakfast with them daily discussing daily schedules and offering advice to those who seek it. A nice place to stay.
