Best value hostel that we found in Rio. Great location, with buses to beaches on doorstep. Owners and staff very helpful and friendly. Also very clean and safe.

It is all newly decorated, common areas are good, breakfast is good, the area is not very safe though but the best thing about this hostel is Jorge and Ana Paula the owners who do everything to make sure you enjoy your stay and are always around to give you advice or ideas about what to do.

excellent staff/location, felt more like a home than a hostel/ jorge and ana were excellent and always ready to help even though i seemed to bring them a different problem every night!!! all in all perfect place for carnival!!!!

The staff were amazing. George was really helpful and gave us lots of great tips and tricks for around Rio. The hostel is in a really great location, I would recomend people to stay here.

Jorge and Ana Paula were great; very accomodating and went above and beyond to make sure everyone took advantage of Rio over the New Year´s holiday. The only thing that would have me lower my rating is Junior, the hostel "guide." As far as I can tell all he pretty much does is sit around and hit on the single women staying there. We went to a salsa club and he came along, and pretended to have no money so we would pay his cover, but then bought himself beers all night. He honestly made me really uncomfortable. Sorry, Jorge and Ana Paula--I really liked you guys and enjoyed my stay overall, but I have to be honest!

The owners were great and very helpful. It was also a really good place to meet people as there was a small courtyard and communal area to relax in.

This hostel really made our stay in Rio complete. Rio is a huge and often confusing city but with the help of the staff here we were able to get the best out of our time here. Jorge (the owner) is a HUGE help with anything you need and organises a number of activities for the guests here. I would recommend Brazil Hostel to anyone coming to Rio.

I would definitely recommend this hostel: nice house, nice patio, clean rooms, good price, great location close to the bars and nightclubs, and very friendly owners!

Not in a touristy area, so I got to see the real side of Rio. Also the staffis great and friendly. They were constantly inviting me out with them and always had the answer to my questions.

The owners were friendly, informed about local culture, local sights of interest and very open to alternative lifestyles and cultures different from their own. We stayed for 12 days and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks Jorge and Ana Paula!!

people make places special no matter where you go in the world all I can say is that Anna & Jorge certainly made our stay at the Brazil Hostel really welcoming, comfortable and infomative.
