Liked: The location is superb as are the staff, just so helpful! The pool is great too and we loved the breakfasts

Liked: Clean facilities, helpful staff, nice patio and pool in the back. Nice atmosphere, free typical brazilian breakfast and Nice people

Disliked: Not really for the budget traveller even in low season. There are many other hostels that are just as clean and less expensive. If you're only looking for a decent placê to sleep só you can be out in the city all day try a cheaper option

Liked: Great location in Ipanema...felt safe and secure, and an easy walk to a fantastic beach. Can book various tours, etc from reception.

Liked: Pros- as all things in Rio, location, walking distance to the beach. Also has good common areas and a back deck with a pool.

Disliked: Their rooms are really horrible with bunks stacked 3 high in a small space. No aircon which I can imagine would be really hard in hotter weather. Their bathroom is dirty with no toilet seat. It's a shame really because the common areas are really nice. But the room sucks and for this reason I wouldn't recommend it.

Liked: friendly, good atmosphere, staff really helpful, excellent location - 24hr security really safe

Disliked: got put into a 9bed dorm instead of 6 but turned out ok cos people in room were cool. all rooms except 2 have air con we only had a fan for 9ppl so really hot

Liked: Beautiful house in very good location. The common areas and the pool are very nice.

Disliked: Three-storey bunk beds should be forbidden! Also there is a SERIOUS lack of toilets and showers for the amount of people crammed into the tiny rooms and the kitchen is very scarcely equipped. Information on things to do and how to get there etc. could be improved.

Liked: great hostel quiet, 2 blocks from the beach in the middle of Ipanema. Nice atmosphere in a pretty and clean place with funny staff

Liked: The staff are great, we had some problems with our Carnival tickets and the staff helped to resolve. The place has a good vibe with great location to the beach.

Disliked: The did not have enough showers.

Liked: Great people, great pool, amazing location

Disliked: I was here 4 years ago and not much has changed between now and then. The beds are quite filty and the top bunk is so high and dangerous. The space for a lock on some of the lockers was also broken which was really annoying. The staff were really friendly, however there were so many over bookings so definitely double and triple check your booking or you'll be left on the street!!

Liked: It was a really relaxed atmosphere, very comfortable courtyard and nice tours! Especially the staff was really helpful.

Disliked: the toilets were often very dirty and the rooms were a bit too small for so many people with luggage. Also the bunkbeds could have little lights for reading in the evening or for not waking everyone up when coming home.

Liked: The place is well built and put together with good taste. When you enter, you immediatly see a good paint job, nice tiles, a kitchen that has cost some money.

Disliked: The bar has no licence anymore, but you are allowed to bring your own drinks in. This does make it less of a likely place to meet other travellers. A big minus were the cockroaches in the room, which didn´t not keep to the floor.. One was found in the topbunk bed of my friend, and we are talking a triple bunk here!

Liked: Loved staying here so much, has a excellent location which gives easy access to the beach, metro, bars, clubs and places to eat. Staff and fellow travellers are sooo lovely at this hostel, made me feel so welcome. All showers and common areas are clean. the garden is lovely and somewhere you can do a good bbq! Breakfast was lush and included in the price. Overall excellent value for money and my experience would not have been the same if I hadnt stayed there.
