Good place to stay if you want to get away from tourist traps, but most places easy to get to. Staff great for giving practical advice, places to go and organising tours etc. Friday night in Lapa not to be missed - 5 mins down hill. Had a great time, would defintely recommend. All staff helpful, and a special thanks to Lauren

It was aq reaally nice place to stay - not by any means a party hostel but the staff were excellent and it´s close enough to lapa that you can stumble back reasonably successfully! (although navigating the hill is still a mission)

The hostel is situated in an amazing villa with a beautiful view, but still the number of beds is low, which makes the hostel small and cozy (easy to meet other people). The staff is really nice and helpfull. Location is really nice, the ´Bonde´ stops right in front, although at night it can get a little deserted at the street.

Staff very friendly and helpfull, nice location in Santa Teresa. Also fair prices for "mini bar" in the dining room.

The hostel seems to attract a nice type of traveller, who are keen to party but do not want to turn the hostel into a constant party zone.The bars of Lapa and the Sambodromo are readily accessible.

everything the location is amazing not too close to the partying of lapa and santa teresa but close enough that you can walk everywhere. Marjolaine and all the receptionists are very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommened this hostel its amazing. Its not too big i think the most it holds is about 20max so you can know everyone and party as a group not not too big!

this hostel was absolutely amazing. we had our doubts upon our arrival when our taxi driver told us it was not safe in the area and they hadn't really prepared for our arrival, but the next morning made everything okay. breakfast was good, hostel clean and safe, location very interesting and safe if you're sensible about your actions, staff very helpfull and the other guests were amazing as well. best time!

excellent very freindly staff and agreat ambience, it was excellent to have brekfast and look out at the monkeys in the tree! The rea is good although a bit edgy there are some great bars and restaurants but its quite quiet. the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful.

Very relaxed hostel in a pretty area of Rio. It has lovely decor and is a nice place to hang out for a bit of peace and quiet. Little distance from the beaches but Santa Teresa is a nice area to see... nice bars, live music, cafes. Close to Lapa which is a great place to go out.

Nice old building in heart of Santa Tersea.Good fews, peaceful atmosphere. Very nicely furnished and away from the hustle and bustle of the other tourist areas such as Ipanema.

Very friendly staff with excellent english. Easy access to all the major sites using the buses about 5 minutes walk away.

The hostel staff is very friendly and always there to help. You have free access to Internet, can do laundry and leave all your things there without any worry. What is most important, it is located close to the center of Rio in romantic Santa Teresa quarter just above Lapa, the part of the city with loads of samba clubs and vibrant night life. Buses to Ipanema and Copacabana are a five-minute walk awaz, so ... Simply great!

This hostel has an excellent, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. It is in a beautiful location in Santa Theresa, near to the Lapa and to Centro. We spent 5 nights right at the end of a 3 month trip and it was the perfect place to finish. The staff are excellent, the decor lovely and the cake at breakfast superb! Highly recommended

It is small enough to remain cosy and friendly, the staff are very enthusiastic and really enjoyed my stay there. Just remember to turn on the airconditioning, otherwise it can get very hot in the rooms.

Fausto the owner and all the other staff are really wonderfull and extremly friendly and helpfull. We have had such a graet time here and have seen and experienced some of the best Brazilian culture and sightseeing with the hostel. What is really fanatastic about this hostel is it's very personal and you really feel like part of the family. They even take you out in the evenings to all the best blocko's and samba bars around Rio etc... WE HAVE LOVED IT HERE.
