Santa Teresa - Rio de Janeiro
The picturesque neighbourhood of Santa Teresa, by many considered the brazilian Montmartre, is the most charming neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. Its narrow and winding streets hide old mansions, handicraft shops, restaurants and countless workshops and art galleries.
As a green oasis in the heart of the city, the relaxed pace invites visitors to observe the well preserved architecture while enjoying the unique atmosphere of the neighborhood.
During the year, Santa receives many events and hosts various cultural activities. It is a year round meeting place for artists, writers and intellectuals. The neighbourhood is the best place in town to enjoy the Carnival as it is very close to the Sambódromo (Carnival Parade), to Lapa, and to the main “blocos” of Rio de Janeiro (Street Carnival).
And more, Santa Teresa’s central location enables quick and easy access to all points of interest!
