Liked: We enjoyed the atmosphere of this place, very quite and homy. The backyard garden is great. Nice common areas are perfect for reading. The staff is friendly. It is equidistant from the center and beaches, so you don't get any troubles with getting around te town.

Disliked: actully, it takes a bit more than 5 min. (as it is said the gueathouse's overview) to walk from the metro, 'coz the road goes up. but anyway, it's o'kay.

Liked: The bar in the bar is great and also the kitchen. rooms are clean.

Disliked: During our stay there was no hot water and later on there was no water at all. We heard that this happens often. If you pay by card you will be charged 10% more. The staff did not care that we couldnt take a shower and charged us the whole amount and even 10% because of paying by card. location is bad for a long stay in rio. but for 1 night okay. the hostel is in the middle of chairs so you have to go up and whit your stuff.

Liked: An excellent hostel. Initially quite difficult to find as it is actually on a staircase, just be confident and ring the door bell of number 15 and you'll be fine! You can get motocycle taxis up the steep walk to the hostel from the subway station for 2 Reals which i also highly recommend. Good beer, beautiful garden, excellent cairpiniha, I couldn't really ask for anything more. I highly recommend this place! The staff are great, the venue is awesome, area is

Liked: Excellent place, nice staff, lovely guests and you could always find people to hang out with. Highly recommended!

Disliked: Hostel is located on a hill, but there are mototaxis that can ease your way up on the hill.

Liked: Good breakfast, fast internet connection, airconditioning, close to the subway.

Disliked: The room was not cleaned during the holidays.. Not much space in the rooms. Overbooked.

Liked: The staff. Nathalia and Sabrina were excellent.

Disliked: The fact that the window in 'deluxe' private twin shoe box does not lock meaning you couldn't leave your valuables in the room. The fact the place was a bit dirty. The fact that the owner treated the place like a second home. Not a nice place to stay, especially for the money. Go elsewhere.

Liked: Very pretty house with nice common areas and garden. Good breakfast, friendly helpful staff. Good showers, clean bathrooms. Very relaxed environment.

Disliked: No free towel.

Liked: nice hostel in a good surrounding (santa teresa is very charming).

Disliked: we were there during new years, so the price was extremely high for a 8 m2 bedroom with a pretty small and smelly bathroom.

Liked: I liked that guitars and other instruments were lying around for all to play.

Disliked: I disliked many things about this property. 1. I only saw them clean the bathroom once during the nine days that I stayed there. At one point, there were 11 people in my dorm and we shared a single bathroom that was far from clean. 2. The beds are too close together. The distance between beds is only about four or five inches. 3. The sheets did not look so clean. 4. Belas Artes charges around US$15 for one load of laundry. 5. Although my room was supposed to be for 10 people, they stuck an 11th person in the room and did not give us a discount. They don't quite know where to draw the line between making money and cheating customers. 6. Breakfast was so mediocre. I did not bother eating breakfast during my nine days at the hostel. 7. Finally, the cooling system was inadequate. The air conditioner was positioned so high up that it was difficult to reach, and when it is turned on, you catch a cold. There is a wall fan that blows hot air. If you have problems with allergies, this is not the place for you.

Liked: Good location, close to cosy Santa Tereza. Close to taxi, buses and metro. Friendly staff, quiet area. Nice backyard.

Disliked: Hard to find, no signs. Crappy shower.

Liked: Beautiful guest house in a cool area with lovely hosts. Stay here for a less touristy, more chic (but not costly) experience!

Disliked: Hard to find on arrival but when you know where it is it is easy!

Liked: Very helpful staff and wonderful location in Santa Theresa. Their warm hospitality and good advice made our stay very enjoyable, and gave us a good insight into the life of the locals. Very friendly people and quiet location in an interesting area of Rio.

Liked: I had a very nice time in Bellas Artes Guest House. The girls working there are very nice and polite and a place is very close to Santa Teresa place, famous for its bohemian life. the atmosphere of Bellas Artes GuestHouse is really right choice for people travelling alone and searching a fun, or for young couples. You can enjoy also and a beatifull garden , and waste common space when you can relax or working....I will be back

Liked: Amazing place with character. The most friendly hostel staff we have ever met! They went out of their way to help and look after us. This place has just opened and the staff make the extra effort. I would def reommend this place so much better than a standard hostel! Big thanks to Patricia and Adriana for their kindness. We will be back!!!
