Really friendly place to stay & the bar is a great place to meet people & the staff are really friendly & helpful.

It's clean and the staff is nice. The free internet connection is good, but there´s no laundry facilities. I´ts really a party place, and i wouldn´t recommend it to anyone not wanting to party for the whole night.

The hostel was in a great location, but unfortunately there were bed bugs. The other main issue was that the DVD area was in-between the bar and the computers, so in reality you couldn’t watch a DVD as you couldn’t hear it. The lack of chill out area was the main let down. The staff, bar and breakfast were good.

The rooms were miserable!They describe double appartment, but when you get there you see just a miserable conditions, water, sheets, towels...everything.I made reservation months before my arrival and they didn't even have my reservation in their sistem!Pitifull!I will never go there!NEVER!The rooms are really wet,without windows and they didn't get me a discount price for this misery.They charge you a lot for excursions and football games! I don't recommend this hostel even to my worst enemy! The price from 65$ is not worthy!!

Location - close to main shopping district and the beach. But, was far too loud for a small place - one night we had the noises from the bar competing with the TV room as well. We don´t mind party hostels, but this place just isn´t big enough to be one!

A really nice hostel! Great staff who organizes things for the people who is staying at the Che lagarto. I would recommend this place if you want to meet new people, party and experience the good parts of Rio!

Watch out for the bed bugs! My wife was bitten several times during her stay, mainly on her ankles and nipples.

The hostel was really clean and well-located. We have been very satisfied with everythig. Staff is helpful but you need to make sure the things you want like excursions are confirmed because they tend to be overwhelmed by all the people. Otherwise, the excursions, the bar and the pizza night are a must. We definitely recommend it.

All the staff are great, fun, friendly and helpful. Its clean all the time, with comfortable beds and furniture. Its so close to the Copacabana beach, great shops and markets. A very good hostel to stay at in a cool location. I highly reccoment Che Lagarto.

Great atmosphere, friendly staff and a cool bar to hang out and meet people. Lots of activities to do if you want and a great location 10 minutes from beach. One of the best hostels I´ve ever stayed in.
