Liked: la ubicación es muy buena, cerca de las mejores playas

Disliked: Es muy sucio, ruidoso, las habitaciones son chicas y sucias. El desayuno es muy malo. Ellos ocuparon nuestra habitación y al llegar a las 4 am tuvimos que esperar en el sillón del lobby hasta que se desocupara nuestra habitación reservada. Entramos a las 11 am! solo pidieron disculpas por la confusión de la reserva,atención muy mala

Liked: Had a good breakfast, and credit where its due, the staff refunded our money when we asked.

Disliked: Rooms were unclean, beds were to the ceiling, and everything was in hebrew. The hostel was full of loud, rude Israelis that dont seem to keen on befriending other nationalities. The room we originally booked was unavailable for some reason so we were put in a larger dorm full of the above.

Liked: It was indeed in a great location, close to the beach and major bus lines.

Disliked: The rooms and bathrooms were in a bad condition, the showers didn't work properly and were in the same space as the toilets, instead of having one room just for the showers and another for the toilets...

Liked: Close to the beach, shopping near by, Rafael is awesome and very helpfull, breakfast is fine not spectacular

Disliked: There were a lot of israelic people who only spoke their own language, that can be a little too much if youre not from there.

Liked: Great location - close to the beach and easy to get around on public transport.

Disliked: It was dirty! The bathrooms were woefully inadequate - one toilet for about 25 people, broken shower doors, no soap - and not cleaned often enough (and badly at that). The staff were friendly, but the hostel lacked any kind of atmosphere. The kitchen was filthy and breakfast was poor. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Liked: great breakfast, nice common area, the pillows and mattresses were nice, although there were triple bunks there was still enough space. Aircon good.

Disliked: the bathrooms were really small especially 1st floor and were mixed sex but had no locks.

Liked: Good free breakfast in the morning - scrambled eggs, rolls, sausages, juice, coffee and biscuits. Great location right near Copacabana beach. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful and speak good English. Lockers in the dorms. Free wifi and several computers.

Disliked: Bathrooms are some of the worst I've come across. The toilet doors are glass and do not lock and one of the cubicles is so small that you can't even shut the door properly because your knees are in the way! The bins aren't emptied regularly and the toilet paper often runs out. Only 2 of the showers have hot water, the rest are cold. The floor of the showers are covered in hair etc. There is no shelf or hooks and the drains are blocked so the cubicle fills up. The kitchen is tiny, dirty and badly equipped. No teatowels. The sponge is about 3 years old so washing up is not much fun! There are about 2 blunt knifes and a couple of spoons. The fridge stinks and is in desperate need of being defrosted. The bunk beds in the 15 bed dorm are 3 tiers high so be prepared for a climb! One member of staff was incredibly rude on several occasions, but fortunately all the others were lovely. We stayed during Carnival, so perhaps the place was stretched to full capacity and might be better at other times of the year. It was cheap compared to most hostels during the Carnival, but still incredibly overpriced for the facilities. The bathroom and kitchen really were bad.

Disliked: the kitchen can only be used until 8pm at night, hardly any showers or toilets for the amount of people in the hostel, not enough room to sit down on the toilets, knees touch the door!! one lady on reception desk was reallly rude to one of the guys staying at the hostel, acted totally unprofessionally and just beacuase she had made a mistake herself. really gave a bad atmosphere in the hostel for the night.

Liked: Location is fantastic. Management needs a bit of work--lots of people had to change rooms during the reservation, including myself--it was annoying--but they were nice. Would recommend if you had money to spend since it is 5 min from Copacabana beach.

Liked: Rio Ritz was a great place to stay and it's location, just two blocks from Copacabana beach was perfect. The hostel was on a safe street and the security made us feel secure. The free-breakfast was also good, and they offered eggs and fruit free of charge along with the usual bread and coffee. The staff was also wonderful, and we had a great time chatting with Rafeal, and the owner Luis was kind and even drove us to the bus station for free when we couldn't get a taxi! There was also free internet, DVD's to watch, and the tours were good. The hostel was very accommodating and Monica (the manager) even let us stay an extra night during Carnival, which was awesome. My only issue was with the bathroom facilities because they weren't very private, but all in all I would recommend this hostel to anyone!

Liked: I would definitely recommend this hostel! Location is great, on a nice quiet street only a few blocks from the Copacabana. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly. Book the six bed dorms for a bit more privacy. Air conditioning was heaven sent.

Liked: We had a double ensuite room that was a bit on the small side and a bit dirty and it was really expensive. However, we got it for 4 days during Carnival where everything is costly and it is right in the middle of Copcabana which is an amazing location.

Liked: The staff is very friendly and professional. I really felt at home because any question about the city they knew to help me any time, 24 hours.The rooms are cleans, the other guests so much funny. No hesitate to make a booking there, I loved and I´ll be back again soon. I had a pleasure to pay any cent there because 24 hours security.Tip for others: It´s very normal to pay 50% deposit and the balance on arrival. I´m very happy to stay in Rio Ritz Hostel.
