Liked: The location is quite good, and they offer a small breakfast

Disliked: Our room was located in a courtyard which looked like a shed converted into a room. The double bed was ok, but the single was tiny and pushed up against a mouldy wall. No blankets provided and it was cold at night! The bathroom was terrible, it was the size of a toilet cubicle and you couldnt sit on the toilet straight without touching the basin and the shower. The staff were surly and breakfast was mediocre choice. We were most annoyed about being ripped off, we had an amount owing in US dollars, and being Australian, we clearly have no US dollars on us, only reals. They converted the amount by 2.05 instead of the actual conversion rate of 1.7. Surely they have the amount per room in reals? The whole place was super noisy, with a quiet curfew at 10pm, but it was the staff that were overheard talking at all hours in the morning.

Liked: The Che Lagarto Copasuite was cute and tiny. I liked the serive of the staff member. I met many young people from all over the world. They were all friendly and heartily. The place of the hostel is very nice. It takes just 5 minutes to walk to the beach copacabana. The place is safe and secure. As a woman you don´t need to fear about something could happen after 8 or 9. The programms they offer for the young tourists were diversified. The guides are capable, they organized it well and they were funny as well. The most thing I liked in the hostel was that is wasn´t so loud and noisy.

Disliked: The walls of the rooms should be painted again. Some spots of the walls are molded. The toilets needed more to be cleaned. I noticed that the sponge to clean the dish-washes should be often to change. That is not hygienic.

Liked: Friendly staff, good location not far from Copacabana and other attractions and public trasports.

Liked: Reasonable price for Rio. Good size room. wifi worked in our room.

Disliked: When anyone had a shower the hot water service sounded like a didgereedoo and was quite loud. Very thin walls! Everyone in one room had to pay wifi fee even if they didn't use it or you only had one computer.

Liked: Quiet, clean, friendly staff and good breakfast.

Disliked: Not quite as close to the beach as we thought it would be, also the communal areas were pretty small.

Liked: The staff here are really cool and helpfull. They were always going the extra mile to help you. The rooms were nicely layed out. The facilities were very comfortable safe and clean. Nice breakfasts in the morning. The street is a slight walk to the beach, but is very classy and alot quiter than other areas. Nice quite place to chill and get space. Beds are comfy

Disliked: didn't disslike anything. Only thing i would say is it would be nicer if it was a more social hostel. But this place is cool.

Liked: As a city hostel it was located in a nice area not Not too far from restaurants bars and the beach.

Disliked: Towels were not changed during our 3 night stay. Apart from that everything was okay.

Liked: we stayed there for New Year 2011 recently and it was good experience - about 10-15 minutes walk to the beach itself, but it is safe pretty much anytime of day or night and there are plenty of food or shops on a way

Disliked: it took us a little while to work out the confirmation for New Year - as the rates they published on site were different from what they really charged and they did not know what it will be till October - likely we started earlier and not just e-mail but called also to confirm rates and our reservation for New year - they should probably know rates a bit earlier as a lot of travellers will start bookings in advance

Liked: In a very expensive country and city it seems to be about the only affordable pleasant accomodation for us poor europeans who travel for a month...It is a decent size room in a decent location, nice and quite and with aircon, with very helpfull staff. But they are simple rooms in a backpackers, despite the name copacabana suites. It is not a hotel...

Disliked: Its a relative long walk to the beach (10-15min) for a property that adertises themselves as being close to the beach. And what is up with the old noisy mono-bloc aircons? Even in West Africa they use the modern silent split units, In fact they have for the past 10 years! Furthermore, there breakfast only starts at nine, which means if you like to leave early to do stuff, you go hungry...

Liked: Very helpful staff and is a secure location

Disliked: Room had broken shelves etc and stains all over Walls but most annoying all che lagarto use 'their own' non negotiable exchange rate to charge in reais which is way higher than the actual exchange rate hence we ended up paying their own room rate regardless of hostel bookers savings, be warned!!

Liked: I went with some friends there and everything was just incredible. Liked a lot the activities and the area. Looks like a pretty safe and well run place. For being an only Suites Hostel it's really fine. Thought it would be more like a Hotel, but exceeded my expectations by far. See you next time!

Liked: The hostel has a very good location, a reeeeally helpful Staff (thanks for everything guys - you rock!). Everything was in order: breakfast, cleanness and atmosphere. Would definetely come back maybe for my summer hollidays.

Liked: A great place to stay in a good location not far from Copacabana beach. Staff very friendly & helpful & nice clean rooms. A clean shared kitchen too. Not bad value considering Rio is so expensive for accommodation. We ended up staying an extra 3 nights !
