Disliked: Some of the female staff were less than friendly/helpful and getting information on the local area and the city was difficult

Liked: Great bar, good parties, and the locals come along too, giving the place a good vibe. Great location near everything. Also, staff were amazingly accommodating during the busiest time of the year and very patient with my frequent and crazy requests! Thanks guys!

Liked: Staff were extremely friendly, especially Ana who was great.

Disliked: We had a leak in the bathroom of our room one night with heavy rain, which wasn't really a problem. However, later that night we got a leak in the bedroom above our bed so we needed to move room. Wasnt really an issue though but just the timing of it happening late at night.

Liked: It was clean and very safe. They had security 24/7 and lockers for your things. The bar on the roof was beautiful with stunning views, although the pool was not very usable. The location of Rio Hostel Santa Teresa is great for exploring Lapa nightlife and the beautiful hills of Santa Teresa - also for taking the trolley down to the city center.

Liked: I really loved this hostel, its very spacious and has a brilliant view of the city. The roof top pool and bar are very cool and we met alot of good people here.

Liked: relaxed friendly atmosphere from the minute you walk in. staff extremely friendly and welcoming. a fantastic location to escape the chaos of Rio, its like a different world up there in the hills of santa teresa. having visited rio before and stayed in ipenema, i would much rather the tranquil atmosphere of santa teresa. the bar staff are fantastic, and there was a party atmosphere where people of all nationalities and ages mixed and developed strong friendships.

Liked: loved the cosy atmosphere and location in Lapa, the best place in Rio to stay, the rooms are lovely, and the pool was an added bonus. This was our favourite hostel so far in South America!! Thankyou

Liked: This is the first hostel I have stayed in on my travels but if this is the norm then i am in for some good times ahead! Very friendly staff, great location and all the facilities you could want, would def stay there again!

Liked: My favorite thing about Rio Hostel is the informality of both the hostel and the people there. I made many friends and had many great nights in Lapa. If you are in Rio deffinetly go here!

Liked: This was one of the most fun hostels I've ever stayed! The staff planned nights out in Lapa, and we often went out at night with the staff. Even just hanging out around the pool was fun...it is a smaller hostel, but it felt like everybody became friends really quickly, and enjoyed impromptu BBQs and days out. Would definitely recommend it!
