Mellow Yellow is by far the best backpackers i've stayed at and on the back of a 6 month trip thru Asia and S America theres a lot to compare to. I've never known a management that take everyones stay personally and they have the support of a fantastic and friendly staff, it's like staying with one big family. The tours are all very well organised, great value and the bar is the centre the place to meet and a great place to start a night not to mention the spa and BBQ terrace that are great additions to an awesome hostel. Cheers Mellow Yellow I had a fantastic stay.

The atmosphere, the friendlieness of the staff, all the organised tours & trips I went on & the people I met there, everything about the place!! I could not fault it in anyway and will definately stay there again when back in Rio.

Great place to relax after a day around the city. Food is ample, and loved being in the bar wether to just relax or watch some of the activities. Location is near metro, and close to beach. Pick this place!

Was a perfect hostel to stay in for the fun and party atmosphere of Rio with helpful freindly staff and owner. They had lots of tours to offer which made it easy and safe to explore rio.

Second time at Mellow Yellow and a good reason to visit Rio just to stay there. Easy to go over the top about the place but that's how you get to feel about it.Tried to work out why Mellow yellow is so popular and works so well and it has to be for any UK traveller it is simply the best place to relax and let go. As we all know, travelling can be pretty lonely and stressed at times so to get to Mellow Yellow is like reaching a safe oasis on your travels - everything is geared for the backpacker to relax. It is probably the bar that is the hub of the hostel - it you can't get along with someone interesting there you really haven't got a pulse!!

The hostel was very clean and the cleaning staff were excellent.The bar was also really good great place to meet people.Most of the staff were very friendly, especially Paulo he was great at his job and always friendly.The food was also really nice

I didnt have much chance to stay any longer, but will definately come back on my way home to party my last week. Loved the bar, liked the mix of music, the staff were brilliant. Gente, ate logo. xx
