Liked: Great atmosphere, the staff were really friendly and helpful and the location was perfect. The place was cleaned daily and the included breakfast was great. I would never hesitate to recommend this hostel to other travelers.

Liked: The location is good as it's only 5 blocks from the beach. The room we stayed in had both a fan and air conditioning.

Disliked: The place is quite small and feels like you are falling over each other. The staff although nice weren't very helpful e.g no tips on nights out etc.

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were very helpful and friendly. I injured my foot while staying there and Klayton a member of the staff took me to the hospital and really looked after me. The breakfast was really good and the double room was clean. it was also only a 5 minute walk from Copacabana beach

Liked: Foi minha primeira esperiencia em hostel, gostei muita gente legal, e as pessoas que trabalham são muito educadas, boa localização fica perto de tudo inclusive da praia e o preço bem acessivel. Indico esse hostel.

Liked: All staffs are friendly and they gave us lots of information about tours and the city. Also the location is really great.

Disliked: everything was really satisfied but the room was really hot inside. So bit difficult to sleep...But i think depends on the season.

Liked: We had a really good stay at the Barao Copa...mainly because the staff are so great. We ended up staying for a whole week and found George and Rafaelo to be especially nice and extremely helpful. If you stay here you have to go to the samba school rehearsal and do a favela tour. We went to the Manguera Samba rehearsal and it was by far our best night in Rio. Great little hostel, highly recommeded!

Disliked: Same as the rest of the hostels in Rio\Brazil...expensive! But cheaper than most.

Liked: I had a good time here, the staff were great and friendly. Location was good too-near lots of supermarkets, bars and the beach.

Liked: The hostel is in a good location, 5 mins from the beach and 2 mins from a supermarket.

Disliked: We only stayed one night after a few nights in another hostel. This one was alot worse, for a similar price. Our room was quite smelly and the bathrooms not great.

Liked: nice staff, good brekie, nice samba party on saturday in the heart of the sambacity

Disliked: climbing on the bed on top of the 3 etage beds is a real adventure...we never really trusted in this instabile construction...but it never crashed as long as we stayed there.

Liked: Freindly staff, especially Marcello, a really spot on guy, really willing to help. eggs for breakfast, which is always a plus and some of the cheapest beer in Copa(2.50r a bottle) and its location is brilliant, beside the beach, close to supermarket and a very safe area

Disliked: small rooms, but i guess you dont come to rio to sleep!

Liked: The 5 minute walk to the beach.

Disliked: The breakfast was not as good as advertised. The shared room did not lock at all. I'm pretty sure there are people living in the hostel who are not the owners or people who work at the hostel. There were constantly strange people who weren't staying at the hostel coming in and out. The bathrooms were disgusting (except the 10 mins immediately after they were cleaned, they were awesome then!). The sheets/towels were dingy and didn't look clean (I'm sure they were but seriously, buy some new sheets!). The lockers were small and not even close to big enough to store a backpacking backpack in if going to be gone for the day...they stored them right by the lockers by the desk which was only about 50% of the time manned. Also they didn't have locks readily available...they had to search for a key for the lock they did have. They stored their sheets/towels/etc in some of the lockers instead of leaving them open for their customers to use.

Liked: very close to the beach (3 quarters); and very cheap (2nd cheapest hostel in rio); very safe with lockers + digital camera and close eye kept on entrance; very nice people offering to go out in cool areas in the city; clean; quiet at night.

Liked: The place is extremely dirty and in very bad conditions, the breakfast is bad and the room was so narrow and small that I felt dizzy.

Disliked: Dirty, no confort at all, terrible bathrooms without light and with cold water.

Liked: It was cheap that is about it! They lost our reservation. My wife got a small electric shock in the shower. The staff we really rude, didn't even listen when we tried to speak to them. Air-con was broken and the shower was like warm at best. Only one key to our room for 6 people so the door was normaly unlocked and we couldn't fit our packs in the lockers.
