Liked: Fatima is super kind. The place is well decorated and clean. The location is very good, in the middle of Leblon, very close to many restaurants and bar and a few blocks from the beach.

Disliked: sharing house with the family can make you feel like you are intruding - little kid watching tv in front room etc. not able to relax in living area. for price you would expect room to be cleaned daily and a towel which we did´t get any day despite spending 4 nights there

Liked: Lovely peaceful guesthouse. Located in a safe area. close to bus routes for all the major attractions. Great breakfast. Fatima is very helpful with tourist information. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Liked: Great hospitality, Fatima makes you feel at home in Rio, giving helpful tips and advice. Good location, in a quiet and safe neighboorhood, great breakfast with fresh fruits, even though you're staying at Fatima's house, she gives you all the facilities and space needed. We loved our stay here and would definately be coming back if visiting Rio again!

Liked: We stayed here for 4 nights and loved it. After a long flight it was a relief to arrive somewhere that felt like home...for that's exactly what this is, Fatima's home and you are immediately welcomed. Great stuff; rooms are beautiful, giant beds, lovely clean sheets- couldn't ask for anything more. Breakfast is included (continental; cheese, ham, bread, eggs, fresh fruits etc). Fatima is very friendly and keen to help and generally a lovely woman. I would recommend this guesthouse to any couples in need of a break from hostels/hotels who are in need of some rest and relaxing time. We returned to Rio before flying home and stayed in Copacabana which is a very different experience but equally enjoyable.

Disliked: Negatives are not really negatives but more personal choice - Leblon is where the guesthouse is located which is the most expensive area of Rio. We knew this before we booked however we were surprised just how expensive the area is. You won't find any rif raf in Leblon and as a girl that made me feel safe in a city that is known for its crime. You will however pay for this luxury quite heavily. Meal for two with a bottle of wine was about £50 (120 Real) and this was for one pizza between a pair on a budget. It must also be noted that Leblon is the furthest area from a lot of the 'touristy' spots so costs more in a taxi. However, public transport is great (but make sure you know the bus number before you leave. No use trying to work out the one you need at the bus stop as you will draw a blank! Trust me!).

Liked: This is undoubtedly the best accomodation we have stayed in after 7 months of travelling. Fatima is a lovely woman who is extremely helpful and makes you feel part of her family in her home. The property is clean, nice big rooms and comfortable beds. It is in a great location amongst great bars, restaurants and nice part of the beach. It felt very safe and homely and we would highly recommend this guesthouse to other travellers.

Liked: Fatima is very welcoming and the whole place was very clean. Breakfast was lovely. We were the only guests staying at the time until the last night when we met another couple who we ended up travelling with down the coast! Suited us fine as a couple as it was a bit quieter than a hostel and more of a guesthouse.

Liked: Its location is simply wonderful, in the best neighbourhood of Rio. Fatima is very nice and friendly, we feel very comfortable at her guesthouse.

Disliked: There was nothing I disliked. The bathroom is outside the bedroom, maybe that would be a bad thing for some people. But for me it was ok.

Liked: Fatima is a wonderful hostess and her guesthouse is the perfect place from which to experience the southern (and most sought-after) districts of Rio. Our room was simply splendid. Not only was it equipped with A/C (much appreciated in a scorching Rio summer), internet connection, and a large and very comfortable bed, but it also had a calming and intimate atmosphere. The breakfast, which varied day-to-day and included tropical fruit and local bread, was carefully set up in Fatima's kitchen, giving us the opportunity of getting to know our hostess better and benefiting from her extensive knowledge of the city. The guesthouse is located in the heart of Leblon, one of Rio's safest districts, and is a convenient 5 minute walk from the Leblon beach, which borders Ipanema. We wholeheartedly recommend Fatima's guesthouse and will most definitely stay there again the next time we visit Rio! Fatima é uma ótima anfitria e a sua pensao é o lugar perfeito pra explorar a Zona Sul, a regiao do Rio mais procurada por turistas. O quarto em que a gente ficou hospedado era maravilhoso: equipado com ar-condicionado (muito bem-vindo no escaldante verao carioca), conexao de internet e uma cama larga e muito comfortável, o quarto tinha também uma atmosfera tranquila e íntimista. Fatima sempre tinha diferentes tipos de frutas e de paes no café-da-manha, que era cuidadosamente servido na sua cozinha - o que aliás foi uma ótima oportunidade pra conversar e aprender com ela mais sobre a cidade. A pensao fica no centro do Leblon, um dos bairros mais seguros do Rio, e há menos que 5 minutos de distancia até a praia. A gente só pode recomendar a pensao da Fatima pra todos aqueles que planejam visitar o Rio. Na próxima vez que a gente visitar o Rio, a gente com certeza vai tentar se hospedar lá.

Liked: We´re going back for a third time in in amonth so that should say how highly we rate Fatima´s. Fatima is a complete star! We´ve been travelling for 6 months and this is, by far, one of the best places we have stayed (along side Él Galope´ in Uruguay...if you´re heading that way!)...Great location, great breakfast, great room and fantastic host...oh, and great pets, Fatima has delightful duo who go by the names of Toshy, (the dog) and Chico, (the cat)..Toshy loves cuddles and Chico pretends he doesn´t but we think secretly he does!! We stayed for a week during carnival and it was the perfect location.... a ´Bloco´on our doorstep! Fatima´s place is seriously lovely, she certainly has style...breakfast includes fruit, ham, cheese, rolls, toast, eggs (if you want), coffee, herbal teas, fruit juice etc...Words can´t really do this great place justice or Fatima, she really is a fantastic lady and goes out of her way to provide information and help....seriously....STAY HERE!!!!!!

Liked: The location of this guesthouse is excellant for Leblon and very good for Ipanema beach which tends to be where the locals hang out. The area is much more upmarket with some excellant bars and restaurants around, including one just across the road. Expect increased prices but nothing drastic. May suit the holiday maker rather than backpackers. Fatima is a warm and very friendly host who could not do enough to make us feel welcome. I would definately recommend a stay here but like everything in Brazil, don't expect too much and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Disliked: As it's a guest house, it lacks a bar area to meet other travellers which most hostels tend to offer.

Liked: This Guesthouse is really home away from home. You're both welcome yet at ease. Although bathroom and kitchen are shared, it's very private. The location is the best and safest in Rio de Janeiro. Fátima and her family are helpful and great company, with useful tips of Rio. Without being luxurious, you have all the comfort needed during your holidays,

Liked: Fatima is very friendly and helpful, the breakfast served was good and prepared with careful attention. The room we stayed in was quite spacious, bright and even had air condition which was a bless with the heat outside. The building is located in Leblon, one of Rio's safest neighbourhoods.

Disliked: The building is located in a street where the traffic is quite busy, but we didn't bother that much because we kept the windows closed an air condition on. It was a little tricky to find a parking slot nearby, most of the streets around are "zona azul" so you have to buy a parking ticket with the street vendors (for parking try R. Des. Alfredo Russel, it's not zona azul and we were lucky there).

Liked: Fatima´s Guesthouse is a home away from home. It has loads of character & Fatima was extremely friendly & helpful. The location is perfect in Leblon & it was easy to catch buses to other parts of Rio. Breakfast was fabulous - loads of fruit & fresh bread. Would definitely recommed it to other places.

Disliked: Nothing - it was one of the best places we have stayed in on our trip.

Liked: The location is very important for us, and Fatyma's B&B is very well located, Leblon is a very nice and good looking neighbourhood, lots of good bars, good restaurants, supermarkets, shops. Close to the Leblon beach and to many bus stops! The owner is very charming and friendly, quite helpful and easy going!

Disliked: we expected a bigger room (room n°1), the bathroom is to share with 2 other rooms plus the Onwer. the cleanliness was lacking, towels and the trash has not been changed unless we expressly required, the room has never been wiped (six days). Furthermore, it is best to be careful where you put your feet up, because you might step on the pee dog (very cute).

Liked: Fatima is a very nice host with lots of good suggestions and advice what to do / where to go in Rio. The location is in a safe area of Rio and quite close to the beach of Leblon.

Disliked: for that price it would be nice nice to have your own bathroom, but Rio is that expensive, so you can't compare it to other cities...

Liked: The place was nice and clean ,had plenty of character and was in a pleasant area that felt very safe. Fatima was very friendly and helpful (great cat). My wife and I were really pleased with it.

Disliked: Toilet could be temperamental about flushing. No other problems.
