18 November 2009	James Roany Loved Piratas! Everybody's so laid back, probably because they're at the beach all day, hahaha! Favorite part was the caipirinhas, but the area where they hang out on Ipanema was brilliant. They were painting when I was there... looking good boys!	100%

But it really is dirty, run-down, smells funny in some places, and the deal-breaker for me was the bedbugs. There were definitely bedbugs, as was mentioned by one other reviewer. They were tolerable but I did get bitten and would not want to repeat that experience.	77%

10 July 2009	Tim Morris With a bit of a face lift and a thorough clean this could easily be one of the best hostels in South America. The staff are brilliant and will bend over backwards to help you, the activities organised are ridiculously cheap, the location could not be any better (1 block from Ipanema) and the price is low. The downsides are that the place looks quite dark and gloomy, the mens toilets give off a dreadful smell and there were some problems with bedgugs - although this was sorted when mentioned. If you can get past the first impressions you will have an amazing time in Rio if you stay here	82%

09 July 2009	Customer review Nothing. I checked out after one night and moved to a nicer hostel. You really do get what you pay for. The place needs some money spent on doing it up - it is not suitable for even animals to live in. It's worth spending a little more for somethinghalf decent.	32%
