Liked: I have been to Rio before but this hostel has perfect atmosphere. So close to the beach and every tourist point. Its the perfect place to chill out after a long day of walking in the city. Everyone is so nice and they even helped me with my next booking as well as they hooked me up with all the best parties. It's definitly the place too be. I reccomend !!

Disliked: There is nothing wrong with this hostel. I felt greate !

Liked: tres proche de copacabana pour pas cher avec sanitaires dans les chambres , staff sympa et postes internet.petit dejeuner inclus cool dans le prix.

Disliked: les lits superposes meme pour une chambre a deux lits.

Liked: The excellent location, close to the beach and subway, next to all major the car rental places.

Disliked: It feels like a batcave/ prison...there is a long and dark hall on which the rooms are located, with a gate. Every time you want to go out you need to ask them to open up for you, which becomes annoying quickly. The rooms are very clean but very small. Many do not have outfacing windows. Aircon makes the temperature barable, but because you have no light you feel like your in a cell. Breakfast is very minimal. One of the owners speaks a bit of english, and they are friendly and helpfull. But the place is full of signs with petty rules...what is that about? Maybe for rio standards it is cheap, but we really think you should not ask this kind of money for such a basic accomodation. We booked it despite other negative reviews because we only needed a place to sleep, few other things were available and we needed to bring back the rental car in the next street. Only use this if you are travelling though, or really only care about the price...if it is your holiday and you've got cash, spend it on something better...

Liked: I really enjoyed the staff. They were very welcoming and helpful when it came to advice. The management/desk staff is kind and I saw them always having friendly conversation with the tenants. Every issue we had (which was very few) was solved instantly. The cleaning/cooking staff was great as well. Everyday they cleaned our room and put in new sheets/towels. One of them was a smaller, older woman who didn't speak any english, yet she was hilarious and was always talking to others even if they couldn't understand her. The room was a good sized and the beds were comfortable. Every morning, there was hot coffee, fresh bread, fruits, and delicious juices. There was so much that I liked, I know I'm forgetting something. Over all, I guarantee my stay with Copinha hostel next time I travel to Rio de Janeiro.

Disliked: The wifi didn't reach our room since it was on the 2nd floor, and it was still a little weak on the bottom floor. Our room was also right above the kitchen/dining room, and the walls are a little thin, so every morning at around 7, I was awoken by the other tenants who were loudly getting ready for their futebol game. But their rowdiness was out of the hostel's hands. I doubt that there is a futebol tournament every day of the year, so it shouldn't be a consistent problem.

Liked: Basic room and breakfast but all you need is there: air co/lockers/wi-fi for free or cheap internet, helpful staff and good location!

Liked: The hostel is in a good position to move yourself in Rio, but it is extremely expensive for what it offers: the room was clean but extremely small (you cannot really move yourself inside!), the breakfast starts at 8:30 and the place is so little so often you cannot stay inside to eat, the staff friendly but not always professional. If the prices remain so high I'd suggest to spend a little bit more and stay in a "real" room! Suggested just as last chance and for no more than 2-3 nights.

Liked: I was asked to pay 5% extra for payments by credit card, what was not mentioned in the hostelbookers site. Off course I did not pay the 5%.My room did not have water for 2 days, so we had to use the bathroom/toilette of other rooms.

Liked: This hostel was really quiet which made a change from the last one we stayed at in Rio. It is in a really good location close to buses that get you all over the city as well as the Metro. Copacabana beach is only a 5min walk.
