Liked: Good location, nice owner, they organised an "art-evening" with concerts, theater etc. which was very nice.Nice breakfast area.

Liked: Nice and helpfull staff. Also the breakfast was good, however the room we staid in (groundfloor) was the worst we have ever sleeped in.

Liked: Great location, near to the tube and a good base to explore Rio. Only drawback was not having air con with temperature of 38 degress.

Liked: The Art Hostel has a lot of character and is located in a middle class neighborhood that is walking district to the Samba Halls in Lapa. Because we stayed during the New Years Holiday it was very overpriced like the rest of Rio but during the off season the prices are fair for Rio. If you want to hang with locals I recommend this place. Also, the breakfast was top notch for a hostel.

Liked: Our room was nice and bright. The cooking area was big with enough room for many to cook at once. The lighting in the hallways were very very dark. But others wise a nice place to stay

Liked: This hostel is in a safe-feeling neighbourhood of Rio and is just around the corner from the metro. It is modern and decorated with art. It has a nice upstairs outdoor social area, although the kitchen is very small but is useable. The staff are friendly. Safety was an issue for as there were no safety deposit boxes left to put passports etc in. We had to leave them in our room but had no problems.

Liked: Excellent location, close to metro station. Very safe. Beds and mattress are very basic. A good place for a couple of nights in Rio.
