Taxi:
Taxis usually cost around $40 or R$50 dependant on traffic. Do not pay much more than this and advise the driver that is how much you expect to pay before the journey starts. It is fairly common for tourists to be ripped-off.

By Bus:
You can take the Airport Special bus (Real 2018). It costs between R$4 7. Either you can get off in Santos Dumont Airport and get a taxi (probably R$15 to here) or you can get off in Praia do Flamengo, close to Museu da Reública so you walk 5 minutes till our big red door.

From The Main Bus Station
(Rodoviaria Novo Rio):
You can take bus number 170/178 in front of Bus Station, it costs just R$2,20 and ask the driver to stop at the corner of Rua do Catete and Silveira Martins. Walk 100 meters along Rua Silveira Martins to Art Hostel.
