Liked: I liked the atmosphere of this hostel, all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Th chef was amazing and would cook really tasty meals every evening especially New Years Eve, the rooms were clean.

Disliked: Only one little thing, it needs more bathrooms, there were often queues.

Liked: I've had a great stay in el misti hostel. It is really easy to meet people there and it has a relaxed atmosphere with good caipirinhas! ;) The lockers are big and spacy and made out of metal - so you can store your luggage safely (if you bring your lock). You receive also a very nice map of Rio.

Disliked: Nothing much actually - the dorms in the ground floor are a bit loud, but that's normal in most hostels where you also want to party and meet people.

Liked: There was a great vibe in this hostel. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was good and the staff were constantly cleaning. It is great value for money.

Disliked: There wasn't anything that I disliked. The tours that the hostel offered were great but a little on the expensive side.

Liked: Good location. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast and dinner. Clean.

Disliked: Too many beds in every dorm, it gets really cramped. All too few charging points. The common area could be bigger. Not very many bathrooms for so many people.

Liked: Great social atmosphere, friendly people. Good bathrooms and showers.

Disliked: Very very loud. I wouldn't recommend staying here on a Friday or Saturday night if you plan to go to sleep before 4am.

Disliked: dorm of 18 was very busy all the time as we had the only balcony in the hostel. triple bunks. not enough bathrooms.

Liked: great location in a safe area. Staff were always there to help and give advice on attractions and transport etc. Great breakfast!

Disliked: Downside if you are sleeping in the downstairs dorm as you are next to the window where people have breakfast and can get quite loud at times

Liked: Definitely where you want to be if you want to meet other travelers. The staff are awesome and the food is really good value. The nightly outings are also a great help with an incredible breakfast the next day to get started all over for this vibrant city. This hostel reflects Rio in many ways. Enjoy!!!

Liked: Located 10 minutes from the beach on a safe street,across the street from a great grocery store, Pão do Açucar. Great staff who is always cleaning and speaks great English (though they are loud sometimes and smoke too much in the common area, which I disliked as a non-smoker). Some of the dorms are a bit cramped but they do have air conditioning at night, though only one blanket in the whole 14 bed dorm. 5 bathrooms seemed to be enough-I never had to wait more than 2 minutes. Awesome breakfast. Great free wifi. Music always, and beer/coke/drinks for sale all the time.

Disliked: if you are staying in a downstairs dorm, it will be loud pretty late,and it gets loud as soon as breakfast starts. So if you are sick and sleeping a lot or need to sleep in, get a dorm room upstairs.

Liked: Really friendly and helpful staff and a brilliant breakfast.

Disliked: 3 tier bunk beds might be a bit much for those afraid of heights. Although there is free wifi, you have to pay to use the computer. Nothing too much

Liked: Quite sociable, the breakfasts are good and very close to the beach.

Disliked: The beds could be cleaner and not enough bathrooms for the amount of people staying. I usually had to wait to go in.

Liked: It is a awesome place. I enjoyed my stay at the hostel. Good location near the beach , the breakfast is really good, the staffs are helpful. Great atmosphere to meet other backpackers from all over the world. Good and cheap dinner. During the night there is a bar that you can get good caipirinhas. Big locker inside the dorms that you can keep all your bags. The price for the tours are fine I would recommend it to everyone. Thanks El Misti Hostel
