From the International Airport:

The best and easiest option is to take a taxi. Depending on the time, it should cost around R$40. Be careful with taxis that overcharge! Either ask to go on the meter or don't pay more than R$50. We’re on the right corner with street “Rua Tonelero”, right after street “Rua Santa Clara” and right before the tunnel. Go down street “Rua Lacerda Coutinho” until you reach number 45. There are instructions for the driver at the end to be printed out (in portuguese).

A cheaper option is the “Real” bus. Walk out of the arrivals lounge, take a right past the waiting taxis and look for the airport bus stop. It costs around R$6 and the driver speaks english. It goes along street “Barata Ribeiro”. Ask to stop near street “Rua Santa Clara”. Walk up street “Rua Santa Clara” and turn left after street “Rua Tonelero” on to “Rua Lacerda Coutinho”. It’s a small street. We’re number 45.

From the Bus Station:

Again the best and easiest option is to take a radio taxi from just outside the bus station. You pay a fixed fee at the counter. It will cost about R$20 to get to Copacabana. Again, be careful with taxis that overcharge! Either ask to go on the meter or don't pay more than R$30. We’re on the right corner with street “Rua Tonelero”, right after street “Rua Santa Clara”, and right before the tunnel. Go down street “Rua Lacerda Coutinho” until you reach number 45. There are instructions for the driver at the end to be printed out (in portuguese).

Another option is to take the “Real” bus from in front of the bus station. It’s cheaper but takes longer. It costs about R$6 and the driver speaks english. Walk past the taxi rank just outside the station and wait for the bus at the opposite side of the road. They run every 15 minutes and will stop on the main beach road of Copacabana, “Avenida Atlântica”. Ask to stop at “Hotel JW Marriott” or at street “Rua Santa Clara”. Walk up street ‘Rua Santa Clara’ and turn the first left after street “Rua Tonelero” onto “Rua Lacerda Coutinho”. It’s a small street. We’re number 45.

Alternatively, walk over to the other side of the station and walk across the road, past the taxis, and catch any bus to 'Copacabana', most of which run along street “Rua Barata Ribeiro”. Ask to stop at street “Rua Santa Clara”. Walk up this street (Rua Santa Clara) in the direction of “Rua Tonelero” one block and turn the first left after you pass Street “Rua Tonelero” onto “Rua Lacerda Coutinho”. It’s a small street. We’re number 45.
