Welcome to the wonderful world of Bamboo Rio Hostel, the liveliest and coziest place in the “Marvelous City”.
Two years down the road allows us to look back and say that with each day guests soon become friends and we never hesitate in going out of our way to make their time with us unforgettable! What helps us stand apart is our staff: cordial and friendly, always ready to help in any way possible.
Our location is unbeatable! In Copacabana, just 3 blocks away from the most famous beach in the city and surrounded by bars, restaurants, ATMs, supermarkets and a subway station. Our hostel is located next to a mountain on a quiet street with 24h security. This way we combine the convenience and excitement of a busy metropolis and the peacefulness and security of our establishment with an incredible view of a forest. Here you will discover why Rio is known as the “Marvelous City”.
We offer everything you should expect from a first rate hostel. All our rooms are well kept and have air conditioners. There is also a variety of private rooms. Our facilities include a pool and a barbecue area, a fully equipped guest kitchen, our very own Boom Bar and the indispensible Mountain Lounge adjacent to the forest that surrounds the hostel.
If you’re looking for a place to chill and relax, this is the place to be. We are located on a quiet and safe street where our noisiest neighbours are monkeys hanging around in the woods behind us. With luck you get to see other wildlife animals around as well.

The New Year’s package is available for two different dates: 28/12 until 01/01
29/12 until 02/01
The minimum stay period is 4 nights and the package includes a t-shirt, champagne bottle and a traditional Brazilian New Year’s dinner.
If you choose to book either the nights of the 28/12 or 02/01 in addition to or not including the package, please contact us directly via e-mail after you have made your reservation and we will include those dates on your reservation. The reason for this is that since the package can be chosen to start on two different dates, these two nights, depending on which package chosen, will have different prices to the package night and therefore cannot be computed into the system.
The Carnival package dates are from 12/02 until 18/02.
The minimum stay period is 6 nights and the package includes a t-shirt, Sambadrome ticket for a day’s worth of parades and a traditional Brazilian Feijoada feast.
*SPECIAL CONDITIONS*
For the period of New Year's and Carnival, there is a minimum stay period. If this period is not respected and a booking is made breaking the minimum stay, not only will it not be considered and automatically be cancelled but the deposit made will not be refunded.
A deposit of 50% of the balance is required to confirm your reservation. All reservations will be re-confirmed closer to the date of the packages via e-mail which is why it is extremely important for a valid e-mail to be given. If our e-mails aren’t answered before 3 weeks of the first day of the package, the reservation will be cancelled and the deposit will not be refunded.
Cancellation Policy: After the stipulated dates the deposit will NOT be refunded. In case of a No-Show the package will be charged in its entirety.
New Year’s – Bookings cancelled until November 30th will receive a refund of 100% of the deposit paid (50% of the balance).
Carnival – Bookings cancelled until January 1st will receive a refund of 100% of the deposit paid (50% of the balance).
Bookings made after the cancellation dates will still be charged 50% of the balance and this deposit will not be refunded.
