- Hostel situated in relatively safe area. The security for itself doesn't seem safe enough (or Should I say that's an open atmosphere?). - The view from there is fantastic. - WiFi didn't work while we were staying. - I like hearty breakfast

The hostel was full of character and has great views of the city. It is in a quiet location and takes 10 mins to get to Lapa where transport to the main sights is easily found. We did feel it was a little bit out of the way for nights out, but there are local restaurants nearby that provide good food. The staff are very helpful and give good recommendations and advice, and the hostel is kept clean. we enjoyed our stay there and felt right at home.

The view was amazing, the staff were friendly, the vibe was super chill. They had live music on the weekends and are literally a 10 minute walk from Lapa, where Snoop Dog filmed his video. Breakfast was enormous. The only negative is that because it has this beautiful view, it is located on the top of a hill that gives you a solid workout... otherwise you can take the 206 bus or a taxi for 7R.

The place, the rooms, the sight and the brekfast were really great. But a part of the stuff was not that friendly and they charge money for any additional service like internet, telefone, lockers, etc. - things that in general at hostels are included. The rooms are not that cheap so I would expect more service included...

As has been said before, nothing can prepare you for the view. Sure Rio is a city of many great views, but as the favelas have most of them, its rare to stay in a place where you open your window to such a breathtaking panoramic landscape. The staff varied from very friendly to eccentric, but all helpful and fun. The rooms are very big, we stayed in the double private and our room was huge with two balconies! One of the few hostel breakfasts that's cooked for you rather than being a help-yourself affair, but you'll still be given more food than one person could cope with! If you're lucky, the monkeys may even join you for breakfast too! Helpful staff to the extent that they even took us on a tour to find the quickest way to Lapa

Great view; very clean; quiet. Kind of a hike to come back from town as it is up on the hill but can take bus/bonde. Staff are helpful.

What a fantastic place to stay- brilliant location- amazing views from the terrace over Rio to wake up to and go to sleep to- also easy walking down to Lapa and Cento- on the Bondie to come back. Very easy to get to Copocabana, Ipanema, Sugar Loaf and the Christ by local buses. The best part of the stay was the staff- friendly, helpful and we were even taken out for a trip to Lapa for the samba music... Highly recommended for all ages- and even those of a certain age (like us) were made to feel most welcome.

Tidy, clean, very homely. 1 member of staff was fantastic, the other 2 seemed like they couldnt be bothered. But overall we had a very good experience at the place. Locationwise, the hostel is equal distance from centre of town and the beaches. Met is easily accessible. However, it is located at the top of a steep hill so be prepared for the march on the way home! Highly recommended.

The friendly atmosphere, the arty style of the house but more importantly the staff were absolutely AMAZING. The only thing I would change is to have a drinks machine.

I like everything about this hostel!. The view from the rooms is just insane!. Great and helpful staff, lovely location in a very nice neighbourhood! and great breakfast. The restaurant in the 1st floor offers the best pizzas in town while you enjoy of one of the most incredible views of Lapa!. I will for sure recommend it and if I pass by Rio again I will go back!

With very friendly staff and spectacular views, there is no way you can go wrong. Every day you are served a wonderful breakfast, and given all the help you need to get around and find the best places in Rio. The sleeping arrangements are very good for the money, and all the different people that I talked to in the variety of available rooms were very happy. Although the location can make it a little tough for taxi drivers, once you understand where you are going and what you are close to, it's really easy. It can be a little quiet at times, but there are still plenty of interesting people to talk to and meet. LOVED MY STAY!

Only stayed one night, but it´s in a great location so access to bars and restaurants in Santa Theresa was good (5 min walk). Room was very spacious and clean and the view from the balcony was brilliant (looking out over Centro and Lapa). We had to check out early to get a flight so breakfast was rushed as it starts at 9am. All round great place though, so would recommend.
