Liked: The location is wonderful you can see all city. it is so amazing! I liked so much stay ! The staff are so helpful , simple and friendly.

Liked: Good for a short stay, Beautiful view.

Disliked: Long walk to anywhere fun, down and up the stairs to Lappa makes it an onerous task. Booked private with ensuit, the rooms was large but smelled and was right belowe reception/common area so noisy at night, after experienceing the room I'd consider it more expensive than what it was worth. Breakfast starts at 9 (very inconvient), had an early flight so arranged for 8:15 breakast with the night manager, the breakfast lady was very rude and said she didn't know anything and wouldn't help out. Cut my stay early and went to stay in Ipanema, this was a very good idea and had a blast in Rio!

Liked: In a really nice quiet area. Lovely views from balcony. Chilled atmosphere.

Disliked: The airport pickup didn`t come for us, and a separate guest said the same thing.

Liked: Nice, friendly hostel, not too big or over crowded, great staff, location excellent, easy to meet people. The area Santa Teresa is fantastic and close to Lapa.

Liked: It's in a beautiful setting with amazing views, and the property itself has a lot of distinctiveness and charm. The staff were friendly and laid back. And the variety of common spaces, some indoor and some outdoor, creates a good mix of places to socialize and places to relax that makes it really easy to meet people.

Disliked: The location is fairly good for a run on Lapa, but it's a bit of a climb and far removed from good restaurant and grocery store options. It also requires a taxi when coming home at night.

Liked: Clean, quite modern, nice rooms, even the dorms, family run!

Disliked: Slightly far from copacabanna but veery safe qute area with a few places to eat and drink in.If you want to expierience going or eating out in Ipenema or Copa it might be an idea to stay a night or 2 down there. Santa Treasa where this hostel is is very safe and funky area.

Liked: breakfast is better than in other places and you can enjoy it with a great view of downtown Rio.

Disliked: the restrooms should be identify as for male and female. the showers and toilets are a little small and I'm not a big person.

Liked: It was perfect spot to stay for a weekend! Close to Lapa and center of the city, what would u need more...!! Stuff was amazing and lots of crazy backpakers, so... THANK U BRASILIS HOSTEL 4 EVERYTHING!!

Liked: Very nice hostel with very kindpeople. People gave us some good advices for vsiting the city.Good breakfast to begin your day. Caipirinha are very tasty.Situated next to Parque Das ruinas, and between santa teresa and Lapa. Perfect for partying at night

Liked: I was travelling through South America for a month and after quite exhausting trip I was pleasenly surpised to find such a relaxing place with a fabulous view. The place shows different side of Rio, the cobble stone streets were not what I expected to see there. I am really glad I stayed in this hostel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, hostel was very clean and safe. I would recomend it to everyone..Kate Bijelic

Liked: Terra Brasilis was recommended to me by a friend who had gone there for one night and ended up staying for five. Even though I wasn't sure about straying away from the beach to lodge in Santa Theresa, she was insistent that I wouldn't regret it. Good call! I was thoroughly impressed with the place - there was a really friendly atmosphere from the moment I walked in - the staff could not have been more helpful. The thing that really bowled me over was the vista - from the balcony I could look right down on Lapa below all the way to downtown. Once I got settled I ventured out into Santa Theresa. I wasn't sure what to expect but I really liked the rustic Rio vibe in the place. I checked out a couple of cool galleries and spotted a few bars that looked like they'd be well worth paying a visit to once the sun went down. It was a nice change from the beach - I felt as if I was getting away from the typical tourist trail and seeing how the locals live. Pretty well as it happens! Later at the hostel, I shared a couple of beers with two Dutch girls and an Norwegian guy who had just arrived and we decided to check out the local night life - to see if it was going to match my rising expectations. We weren't disappointed! The bars were jammed with a real mix of locals - everybody seemed to be out enjoying themselves. We had a great night - the area was a brilliant find. I hadn't been expecting much but it was a real discovery. After the excellent breakfast the next day, I e-mailed (free internet!) my friend to thank her for the recommendation. I'll definitely be passing it on - everything about my stay in Terra Brasilis was excellent, I couldn't recommend both the hostel and Santa Theresa enough.

Liked: I've been travelling around South America for the past 4 months, and this place really is a gem, it's so laid back and charming. The views down over Lapa were gorgeous, especially with a glass of vino tinto. The staff all spoke English and the tall Irish girl whose name I forget was really helpful and seemed to know all the places to go in Rio. If I'm back in Rio again, I know where I'll be staying :) Joey Joe Joe
