About Rio Surf n' Stay- Backpackers

Our Surf Styled Hostel - Surf Camp is a spacious house only 1 min walk to the Macumba beach in Recreio, it’s a hidden gem set in beautiful natural landscape with tropical paradise surfing beaches. It’s the perfect spot to relax in a hammock after a day of surfing and other adventures.
We are centred in the middle of 7 different surfing beaches on the outer skirts of the Rio City, 40min drive down the coast from Ipanema. Easy to access by local buses, we can arrange you a pick up from the airport, bus station or hotels and hostels in the city.

The hostel is mixed with a surf camp concept that was created and put together by a young couple from New Zealand and Brazilian. Both being well travelled surfers; they have put this interesting house together for you to fall in love with.

All equipment is provided; soft boards, leashes and rash guards. Instructors are certified and we promise you will stand up and progress. Great location to learn with warm waters all year round. Group Lesson - R $80.00

- Pick-ups for 1 day Surfing Tours with us are also offered from anywhere in the city

All rooms are spacious with ceiling fans.
1x deluxe double with air con, ensuite with hot water showers.
3 x Doubles Rooms with en-suite and cabenits
1X Twin Room (for friends) with en-suite
2x 6 bed shared dorm rooms (the more expensive dorm is with a towel, varanda, and hammocks).
Camping site area in the front garden with outside toilet and showers.

Buffet breakfast daily with fruits, cakes, and breads with ham, cheese and jams. Also a selection of juices, teas and coffee.

Important- prices are different to normal, due to high demand all bookings must be confirmed by email to Rio Surf n Stay with a deposit of 50% to make a complete booking confirmed.

Location Information

This area is ranked the best and most consistent surf beaches in the Rio City. We hold the world circuit tour and world qualifying series for the men and woman. coming soon May the 9th - 20th 2012 Come hang out with us to watch.

The secluded beaches Prainha and Grumari have amazing jungle mountain backdrop with no development. Grumari is where the beach scene from the movie city of god was filmed.

These are the safest, cleanest and most relaxed beaches of the Rio City. Stay with us, the only hostel / surf camp in the area of Recreio and be able to experience an island style feeling close to the city.
Rio city sight seeing tours can be arranged at the hostel so you can experience it all.
We have no curfews and give every customer their own key to the gate, so you can come and go as you please.
