If we had to choose a neighborhood to summarize Porto Alegre, it would be the Bom Fim. The region has much story to tell about the city and even being in the middle of two main avenues, the tree-lined streets give an air of an inner city.
The neighbourhood it´s cousy and walking through it and surroundings, you can find many things of everything good that Porto Alegre has to offer.
You have many choices of restaurants, cafes, snack bars, bars and pubs. About the close stores, is no different and you have a lot of stores of all kinds. From cheap options to expensive. In fact, our location it´s 10 minutes walking from the fanciest street in the city in one direction and 15 minutes from the downtown going to another direction.
10 minutes walking from the Bom Fim Hostel you can find almost any facilities you should need during your stay at Porto Alegre. Banks, Travel Agencies, Exchange Agencies, Laundries, Convenience Stores, Supermarkets, Bottle Shops,...
Speaking about the location in a touristic way, Bom Fim neighborhood it has history to tell and special spots to see, including culture options to visit. Also, 10 minutes walking in different ways you can find two of the most important parks in the Capital: Parque Moinhos de Vento (Parcão) and Parque Farroupilha (Redenção). This last one has a famous flea market and hand made fair all sundays.
To go visit some museums and the historic downtown, you can just walk down hill some blocks thru Indepencia Avenue, that has many historic houses and the Medicine Museum of the State..
