Liked: The Hostel itself is quite tidy and the room was nice and air conditioned.

Liked: Good location, nice place to stay and meet fellow travellers, loved the rooftop common space, good wi-fi connection most of the time, comfortable beds, lots of fruits for breakfast, good water pressure in the shower (only one hot shower though, ask for it!). I had a great stay there and definitely recommend the place.

Disliked: The common bathrooms are not always clean (but they're allright), the kitchen is very small. I asked for the laundry service but they said they couldn't wash my clothes because they had too many sheets to clean, but it felt like they just didn't want to do it. For some reason it is more expensive to book directly at the hostel than on Hostelbookers, which doesn't make much sense to me. And regarding Amazon Antonio Jungle tours, it's a very nice experience but it is way too expensive for what you get if you ask me...

Liked: We were taking a trip with Antonio to the amazon and they work directly with Hostel Manaus.

Disliked: Very little English spoken at the front desk.

Liked: Location.

Disliked: The people of the staff is very lazy, and above all they gave me wrong directions for three times (they send me to the other part of town, when the places were close to the hostel!). When I told them that, they simply smile at me. There are a lot of mosquitoes, and they don't do nothing to dry the places to avoid it.

Liked: They are renovating the hostel at the moment - but looks already really good. The kitchen was not ready yet but will be soon as it looks like. Very helpfull staff and friendly and relaxed atmospher. Breakfast is basic but very good especially the coffee. Would defenitely stay there again and have stayed there before.

Disliked: Liked: friendly and lively. Relaxed but one has to be relaxed as well. No they don`t try to rip you off. I quite enjoyed to see the progress of the renovation but that`s maybe just me. Disliked: nothing

Liked: The hostel is in a great location and offers a haven for the weary traveller in an area which doesn´t have a great selection of nice accomodation. many places in Manaus are horrible - this one isn´t!

Disliked: Nothing - everything was great.

Disliked: The staff do not speak English so was hard to communicate with them.

Liked: Breakfast is ok

Disliked: The first time it was okay, but when we returned after the amazon tour they had put someone else in our room. They said that even though we made a reservation they couldn't have know who we were and this is why they put someone else in our room. Quite weird if you ask me and pretty inconvenient too, because we had to go to another hostel after a long tour. I heard that this happens a lot. The rest was ok.

Liked: Good location, helpfull staff. We liked the hostel and already stayed there one more time.

Disliked: I booked a room with private bath, but it was not available (they let mw know in advance, and it was not a problem for us).

Liked: Not a whole lot. Free Wifi?

Disliked: When we arrived, they had given our room away and they hardly gave us a sufficient discount to cover the difference of this other room they put us in. Staff was rude and unhelpful (asked about dinner and they had no idea where to eat). Breakfast is suppose to go to 9am. When we asked for more coffee and food at 8:30am as it was mostly gone, the staff told us we were too late, oh well. The bed sheets were revolting, covered in stains and holes (why did I even have to put a deposit down for these things?). Also the hostel is quite noisy. The building itself has very thin walls, so be prepared not to get much sleep. Also several people live in that building on a regular basis, so it kind of feels like you are intruding into their home. The area is also quite unsafe. As we were driving in, we passed numerous prostitutes on several corners of the surrounding blocks.

Liked: good breakfast, tour agency inside the hostel, free wifi, service for boattickets to santarem/ belem/ ... very nice owner,but thats no use if new staff dont know anything, good laundry service, very good air con with precise temperature regulation,we paid less in the end coz they didnt have change

Disliked: some staff is very unexperienced- don't know anything.kitchen is way too small for a hoszel of that size, some small insects in the room next to the kitchen and very loud in this room too because breakfast starts at 6 am and it is next to the common room, had some problems in the beginning because we didnt print the confirmation by hostelbookers (wanted to charge us more)

Liked: Our main reason to come to Hostel manaus, was to sleep there well one night before our four day jungle trip and one night after. For that purpose the hostel worked well. We had booked a jungle tour via Amazon Antonio Jungle Tours beforehand and it was easy to stay in Hostel Manaus, because Antonios office was in a same building. We coiuld leave our luggage to hostels luggage room while we were in the jungle. You need your own lock. Combination Hostel Manaus + Antonio Jungle Tour = excellent

Disliked: Only negative thing was that when returning from the jungle the shower in our room flooded and they couldnt work it out before our leave. However they gave us discount which made us feel happy again :)

Liked: We really loved our stay in Manaus. We met so many wonderful people, from all around the world, with so much to offer...It was a relaxing experience, full of fun gatherings and amaizing adventures, all in a very social atmosphere. It was hard to leave behind everything we encountered in our four day stay...

Disliked: Obviously, the rooms are not the best...don't expect a great decorated room or the nicest beds, but it's a bed!!!...and everything else compenses. The rooms with aircondition are better, but are closer to the common gathering areas. If you like your privacy, you may as well settle for rooms with fan. Also, if you found a cheaper price booking elsewhere, don't forget your reservation confirmation...this will save you from paying the actual rate of the hostel. Nonetheless, if you want a great experience, for a cheap price, this is your hostel. You will meet people you won't ever forget!!

Liked: The hostel staff generally spoke good English and helped with information where possible. The hostel had a very good chill out area on the roof and staff that were willing to make your stay as relaxing as possible. In a good location to get to local transport. Breakfast was good also - hot showers and bano's all over the place meant no waiting around. Secure locking draws under dorm beds! evidently the most accommodating for backpackers in the city - others more suited for families!

Disliked: There is not the most vibrant of atmospehere's for your hardcore party backpakers - that's the city in general - more a place to check out the rainforest from. Some lively local bars though!

Liked: mais tomadas nos quartos para carregar baterias, lap top, celulares, etc, fiquei em 2 quartos e só havia uma tomada.

Liked: Good location. Amazon Antonio Jungle Tours has his office in the hostel, and offers very good tours to the jungle.

Disliked: Very chaotic administration. We stayed twice in this hostel, and both of the times, they lost our reservation. Most of the rooms are located either around the television room, or around the little open-air sitting place, which gives a lot of noice. Just impossible to go for an early sleep if your flight leaves at 05:00 AM.

Liked: I liked the location and the fact that most of the hostel was outdoors. You should allow travelers to sleep in the hammocks on the third floor for an even lower price, as the rooms with the fans are very hot.

Disliked: There needs to be more fans in the fan only rooms.

Liked: wireless and lots of people coming and going

Disliked: they say to take their taxi for 40brazilian R (reg. price 50R) and never mention the 3R bus. We had three people in the car and the driver still took 40 from each of us. There is no organization system, so they routinely overbook.

Liked: Not much. You could leave your luggage here whilst you went on Jungle tour. However, all other hostels do too.

Disliked: Horrible staff- especially manager. Never saw a smile from a member of staff. Never felt at home- always felt uneasy. Have to pay for internet that is so slow it took me an hour to book a hostel. Only 1 half-broken laptop to use therefore internet time is limited.
