Buddys Pousada & Guesthouse

Buddys’ Pousada and Guesthouse has been put together by travelers for travelers, a friendly place to stay where you can meet other backpackers, swap tall tales and travelling wisdom, and find out all you need to know about the town of Itacare and everything it has to offer.

Buddy’s offers a budget option for backpackers looking to get the most from their time in Itacare, if it’s a clean hostel style dorm or room you’re looking for, a communal area, friendly service, great value food and drink, local knowledge, cheap offers on activities around the town, tours, bike rental, DVD hire, book exchange, and travel agency service – we’ve probably got it covered at Buddys’.

Communal Area
The cornerstone of any good guesthouse. Ours comes equipped with bean bags, hammocks and horizontal backpackers. There’s a churrascaria, for our many bbq evenings, a small bar, which looks suspiciously like a fridge, places to sit, lie down, squat, whatever, and it’s all in our leafy garden.

Accommodation Information

Buddy’s is a ten-room guesthouse with a mixture of dorms, doubles and triples. All rooms are ensuite and come equipped with walls, a door to enable you to go in and out, and even a window at no extra cost. Our luxury bridal suite has two windows.

All rooms have a ceiling fan. We don’t provide air conditioning in the rooms as we believe it’s environmentally unfriendly. It’s also really expensive.

Location Information

Nearest large town and airport is Ilheus. Bus runs from Ilheus every hour from 7am - 8.40pm every day to the bus station in Itacare.

Buddys is a ten minute walk from the bus station, or a one minute cab ride.

Itacare is also easily reached from Salvador, Porto Seguro and Rio via direct buses.
