Liked: Location was perfect and more often than not it was the place that people ended up at for late night music/party.

Disliked: Dorms are a little cramped but still good value for money.

Liked: the location for the rooms was perfect, literally 3-4 metres from the sea and the hostel itself is just perfect location wise.our private room was lovely and a good size and cleaned daily.its about a 10 min walk to main town on beach which is fine and town itself is nice but very quiet during the week which is why this hostel is good and next door at che lagarto as it organises evenings of food and drink for a good price. the tues bbq is awesome!!!fully recommended!

Disliked: wifi quite variable and bit hit and miss but does work just slow.as ude expect on an island like this though.

Liked: It has a great location, only a 10 minute walk along the beach to the town. The views of the beaches are lovely. The staff were willing to help with any questions or queries we had. They organised a lot of trips and transfers at reasonable prices.

Disliked: It was disappointing on arrival as the hostel does not look like the pictures on the hostelbookers website - It was quite run down. The description of the rooms is different to how they actually are. The room was very damp and dated. It was not good value for money.

Liked: The views from the rooms were amazing! Aquario is just off the pier where the ferry drops you so you don't have to walk far with your rucksack. It is also right beside the Che Lagarto hostel so you get to meet the people from there easily. There is a nice breakfast and a cool terrace with hammocks.

Disliked: The room was a bit damp and the shower was cold.

Liked: location and bbq were excellent.

Disliked: staff not helpful at all and was quite dirty. had to ask repeatedly for change from paying accomdation cost. one computer for internet which didnt work on a number of accasions and was just told to use the hostel next doors (che lagarto) internet instead and no attempt was made to fix it for a number of hours.

Liked: amazing views, so nice to have breakfast right next to the sea and hear it as you went to sleep in the evening too. very fun bbqs, met lots of nice people, staff were friendly and told us how to get to different beaches. lovely time.

Disliked: you have to ask for new towels!

Liked: right on the beach,10min walk to aabrao city,very nice rooms,a beautifull place and the spot is just perfect!! i think the most beautifull of all the hostels ive seen there!

Disliked: No kitchen facilities and for few Reals more you can get hotel off beach but much nicer rooms & breakfast.

Liked: Stunning location, very heplfull and friendly staff, nice clean rooms, great barbeque, decent breakfast. Might be one of the nicest and most convenient spots for budget accomodation.

Disliked: It was very hot and most rooms had new aircons, but they did not work because the plugs did not fit. What is that about? And the first room had a very noisy fan, which meant a spleepless night. After we changed it got better. But why not fix it properly? And be carefull with their door-to-door shuttle service to rio, advertised as 2-3 hours. It took us most of the day (6 hours), picking up all the people in rio. You might be quicker off taking the regular bus and boat from Rio.

Liked: i met a lot of people from different countries and also brazilians the cleanner lady was really heplful

Disliked: one part of the property is still under construction (was not mention anywhere) acces to the hostel very dirty and moody late at night, doors are closed - the only acces must be done by the hostel next doors

Liked: Good location as was quite secluded and had good views.

Disliked: Only 1 old slow computer with someone always on it, and it cost to use. Room was very basic for the expensive price. Had no toilet paper our entire stay, despite asking for it 4 times... Sometimes the staff seemed slightly... vacant.

Liked: Location, atmosphere, nice stuff; The stuff offered us a free lunch when we were leaving.

Disliked: The room was a bit small for putting the luggage. There was some trash outside the hostel.

Liked: On the water overlooking the town.

Disliked: The rooms were cramped, no air flow and hot. Animals running around the hostel and it wasn't the cleanest. No kitchen.

Liked: We really enjoyed our stay at Aquario hostel despite the rain one day! We were a group of 3 girls and were upgraded to a private room free of charge. The staff were all really helpful and our room was cleaned thoroughly daily. It was a really fun hostel, very sociable, and every night they put on dinner and music, we had reggae one night, samba another night. Would recommend to other travellers who like to socialise and meet people. Also the location is amazing, it is a little bit of a walk from the jetty but the rooms literally open up right onto the beach

Liked: Its convenient for being dropped off by boat and they do a 25 reais all you can eat bbq which really is all you can eat.

Disliked: There is an annoying lady who hassles you constantly to buy the booze cruise boat trip and bbq. This is really a place for young backpackers looking to get drunk more than just chilling out. The shower was cold. Is a bit further round the bay fom the main bit of the town.
