Liked: The rooms a quite basic, but clean and the beds are made everyday. The breakfast was really nice, with a nice variety. Nice area to chill out at the hostel before going out later.

Disliked: Although hostelbookers says there is wifi, there is none. However there is a laptop at the hostel with internet access that you can use. I can confirm that your booking with hostelbookers probably wont have gone through to the hostel owner because she had no idea and every person that checked in had to log into their email to show her the confirmation email, I even sent a seperate email to confirm my booking but that didn't go through either...some people were turned away during my stay but the owner was quite helpful and offered to help them find another hostel.

Liked: Rooms were ok but were very dark, good shower and ensuite bathroom.

Disliked: The lady who ran it, she seemed to always be really annoyed and caused an atmosphere around the hostel all the time. She managed to mix up bookings all the time, resulting in some people being turned away after booking with hostel bookers. We had heavy rain during our stay and the people in the room next to us ended up having all their stuff ruined as there was a leak in the room. They reported it to the lady and she wouldn't believe them until she saw it for herself and then after some time she offered them another room. The breakfast was ok but was always covered in flies. Not a great stay.

Liked: good breakfast on a beautiful terrace. Good location; much cheaper than beach side hostels but still really close to the beach.

Disliked: Due to an electronic failure, our reservation didn't get through and apparently that happens more often. Be sure to confirm your reservation prior to your arrival.

Liked: The location was ok and the price was relatively low. The variety of the breakfast was good.

Disliked: The owner of the place is unfriendly. The breakfast was supposed to be from 8 till 10 but started normally at 9, even we after we asked for an early breakfast. The room was very damp and the matresses of the beds were really bad.

Liked: It had lots of character and the location was very close to the town, but also nice and quiet. The owner was super chiled out :)

Liked: Staff were friendly and helpful. It didnt matter that we were not on the beach, it is still very close for half the price!

Disliked: Not the easiest place to mingle with other people during low season. But it just needs more people to recognise it's good value for money!

Liked: We enjoyed being a few minutes away from the centre...nice friendly staff...fantastic breakfast..nice pool and terrace...good value

Liked: It was lokated in a beautiful area, a bit up in the heights of I G. When we first came in, we felt like we really got our moneys worth. For 25r$ a night, we had a nice room for three, free access to the kitchen to cook ourselves, a really nice outdoor area if we just wanted to sit outside with a cuple of beers... The best part though was the breakfast that was included.

Disliked: Our room didn't have a door between the sleeping area and the toilet.

Liked: By far the most friendly and cleanest hostel yet when you stay at a hostel the most important thing is the owners/staff who were very welcoming although english wasnt great it didnt matter you were looked after impecably, it was also clean, secure and had a great atmosphere..

Disliked: i paid for a dorm room and because it was over booked the very kind owners gave me a single room without me even asking for it free of charge..Its the perfect place to spend your time in such and tranquil and at the same time happening place...

Liked: This hosel has been the nicest hostel Ive stayed at in Brazil. The owner is very nice and helpful. The breakfast is the best in Brazil. The rooms we spotlesly clean, and the pool was great. There was nothing lacking with the hostel.

Disliked: It could have been closer to the beach, but it was still close.

Liked: The owner was nice and helpful. The breakfast is really good!

Disliked: It smelled of sewer right before you arrived at the hostel. There are very small chances of meeting and hanging out with people, lack of common rooms. The triple room was extremely small, and the bathroom as well.

Liked: Mata Virgem was really nice place to stay. Staff don't speak english well but i had any problems with them because of language. I really liked owner couple 'cos they were so kind and helpfull. People has complained about the dirty pool but actually it is clean. Staff i really taking care of it (cleaning, putting chlorine) but still it looks dirty because of the painting is eroded. This hostel was like a home :)
