Hostel Marimar

Hostel Marimar Encantadas offers a peaceful, complete experience for all travelers. We are located in the Ilha do Mel nature reserve, which has 90 of its natural fauna intact. Although 'Honey Island' is known as a nature reserve, it has become a prime summer hang out spot among the youth.

Hostel Marimar is a certified youth hostel which offers clean, safe and well accompanied accommodation to all people; we take pride in being a point of encounter on the International level, bringing together all nationalities of the world.
We offer accommodation for up to 120 people with 16 suites and 44 beds in 8 rooms. We include an all you can eat breakfast with access to our game room in the price.
As always, our community kitchen is well equipped to serve your cooking needs.

On the very steps of this peaceful hostel, the very sand of the beach will warm your feet. The entrance faces the west, as it is no secret to see some of the most beautiful sunsets which nature may bless upon us. We are located on a beach which belongs to a closed bay, although if you desire a complete beach experience our guests walk only 10 minutes to get to the open sea, where the waves can range from chilled out to gnarly! It is generally surf-able, we also rent boards!

The island is very accusable to all travellers: There are no cars on the island! There is a network of trails which permits all access to the island, without entering onto the untouched, pristine jungle. There are 3 main attractions here, one of which is quite close to our location: the haunted cove (which is 10 min from us), the lighthouse lookout point, and the old fort built by the Portuguese in the year 1770.
