Liked: A hostel is all about cleansing and staff - both were perfect. I would like to thank all the Tucano crew. They were amazing from every point of view - good food, promptness, the touristic guides, the transfer, etc. Thank you all: Rafa, Marina, Gabriel, Ana Paula, Manao, Leo, etc.

Liked: Probably one of the best hostels I have ever stayed at! The staff are so friendly and you can tell that they truely love to work there. It feels like you are part of the family. They organise day trips for you, take you to all the parties, come partying with you and even cook you dinner! The food and the fruit cocktails are amazing.. the chef is brilliant. The hostel is clean and has fantastic facilities! There is not much more you can say about this place. Thank you to all the Tucano staff for making our stay unbelievable!

Liked: Beautiful hostel, clean, great and friendly staff, amazing food. The tab system for the bar is excellent. Fantastic value for the price.

Disliked: Nothing really. OK its not right on the beach, but it is close to the nightlife and close to buses that can get you quickly to the beach.

Liked: Very nice and clean place, totally friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast and amazing dinners for only 12 reais! Probably one of the best hostels I've ever stayed in.

Liked: Really nice and helpful staff, fun atmosphere, good location, areas to chill out in, organised activities, really cute hostel dog (doona i loved), THE BEST DINNER for only 12R, was delicious, and i am a vegetarian so its hard to find really good food and this was the best meal i have had in Brazil so far, very yummy. The place was great and i think all should stay here.

Liked: The staff are great and so friendly and helpful - the rooms are clean, good breakfast, GREAT dinner, cool activities (loved the beach trip) and delicious caipirinhas - especially in happy hour!

Disliked: It was a bit cold at night (winter) but plenty of blankets were provided!

Liked: this is an exceptional hostel. excellent staff, plenty of things to do, and at no extra charge, which is very unusual. for example, free surfboards, pool table. and superb food, at breakfast and supper. the latter is very unusual.. also, the rooms have plenty of space. again, unusual. the bunks are very comfortable. unusual. they immediatly issue a receipt. unusual. no waiting. what you need is immediately taken care of. and no puffing themselves up, which many inferior hostels do. i have stayed in many hostels over the past 30 years. this one is tops.

Disliked: i liked everything about this place. well, there was en english guest with a most annoying laugh that carried, and most annoying conversation, but hey, it's a hostel. there will be a few annoying guests.

Liked: EVERYTHING!! This is the best hostel we have stayed in during our whole 9 month trip. It deserves all the awards it gets! 1) Amazing food - lovely breakfast and good value evening meals (Indian, Thai, Arabic etc). Eating together also makes it a social hostel and everyone gets on well together. Great barman who mixes capiriniahs etc and good value beers. 2) Hostel is spotlessley clean - this is the only communal shower I have ever used without flip flops on! 3) Great Combi van that runs you to beach and bars for free. 4) Staff are so friendly, really make an effort to make you fell at home and are extremely professional. 5) Duna the dog is great.

Disliked: 1) The four bed dorm is much too small. The bigger dorms are more spacious. 2) We were there in low season so there was plenty of room, but in high season, just one toilet (per sex) and two showers for whole upstairs floor wouldn´t be enough. 3) If I was to be really picky, they need a mirror in the dorms.

Liked: Tucano is just the best Hostel in the world. I Had a great time in there. The silence after 11pm works really well as they organize crazy parties everynight in different places and i could sleep when i wanted to go early to the beach.Booked for 2 nights and staying for 5.Thank you all for the hospitality. Best STAFF and very clean

Liked: This was a really great hostel. The staff are really friendly and helpful. They have day trips organised and evening meals every night which are really yummy and healthy. You have to observe the noise from 11pm onwards so you you do feel like a quiet night you can have one. I can not speak highly enough of Tucano House, they have all bases covered!

Disliked: My only criticism would be that they do not have Visa. Everything else was awesome.

Liked: relaxing

Disliked: Far from the beach. It's a 10 min walk and then a bus ride. Lots of little ants crawling on the dinner table. It's in a residential neighborhood so you have lights out at11pm and are not allowed to stay talking with people outside. There are rules for everything ( eating, swimming (pool is tiny), drinking, showering, noise, use of water...) and it makes you feel very unwelcome as they are posted on every possible surface.

Liked: The staff is very friendly, caring and helpful. There's a bar area where you can meet fellow travellers. The hostel offers days tours, tickets and discounts to nightclubs, nice dinners, good breakfast and cheap drinks at their bar. There's also a TV/DCD room for a break from the sightseeing and the beaches. Free internet and Wi-fi. I liked too the chill out area with all the hammocks, the pool table, the swimming pool and the fact that they have a free parking (just for one car).

Disliked: The toilets, that don't flush very well, the swimming pool's size (small) and the temperature of its water (very cold).

Liked: The common area, bar and pool were great to meet people and have a good time. Everything is priced reasonably. The staff are all great and friendly people that work hard to make the hostel run well. The dinners are absolutely amazing.

Disliked: For the number of people staying there, it is a little compact. It hard to get time to yourself at times. My room was difficult to sleep in as it would get really hot. The location requires buses to get to beaches.
