Liked: Great atmosphere and a lot of cool travelers staying there. The tour offered by Haris is really good. Sarajevo's sites are a bit spread out, so tour makes it a lot easier to see things.

Disliked: Hostel is too far away from old town center, but walking up the hill gets old quick. Also, facilities aren't great. Beds are linens are old. Feels like you're staying in someone's garage for the weekend. If you want a more comfortable stay, I'd recommend trying another hostel and then just booking Haris' tour.

Liked: Staff were really lovely and helpful. Tours they offer were quite good. Great that they pick you up from the bus/train.

Disliked: Massive hill up to the hostel from the centre. But I imagine thats pretty unavoidable considering the city itself!!

Liked: Good atmosphere, superfriendly staff, a lot of information about Sarayevo in hostel itself....

Disliked: Climbing on the top of the hill can be exhausting.

Disliked: The guided tour was ok, but 15 euros seemes like a high price in my eyes. It could easily be cut down from 6 hours to 3 or 4.

Liked: This is such an awesome hostel! Haris and his team are incredibly welcoming and we had a really comfortable stay with them. It's worth staying at this hostel just to do the city tour. The location is really cool and you even get some much-needed exercise hiking up the hill.

Liked: Haris so lovely and cute!! Good balcony for socializing. Close to supermarket and near beautiful old town.

Disliked: It was up a beasty hill which was a pain with backpacks.

Liked: Nice big bathroom. Good common areas. Clean bedding. Fantastic tour of the city with Haris.

Disliked: It's a long walk up in the heat from the Old Town Square, although the walk down is fine - 7 mins. And it would have been nice if someone had put away the dishes in the kitchen that sat out the entire time I was there.

Liked: This is a family house where his mother and sister (I think) help out. They do a good tour, although it doesnt go every day. Its up a very steep hill, but there are buses (although they dont seem to be all that frequent). There's a fully equiped kitchen and a supermarket about 50m up the street. They have a very large dog (friendly but a bit loud, especially at prayer times!).

Liked: Had a wonderful time at Haris Youth Hostel, friendly staff, great atmosphere and THE place to stay if travelling on your own. Ended up having family dinner at the terrace watching World Cup on big screen – awesome!

Liked: Had such a wonderful stay. Harris has made our stay fantastic, he is so hospitable and always making sure we are having a nice time. We went on his tour as well which really was interesting and gave us a greater understanding of the city and country, i would recommend the tour for sure! On saturday we had a bbq and go to eat traditional bosnian food (cevape), has a blast hanging out. The hostel is also very homey and comfortable, LARGE common room and a very nice kitchen with all the amenities. There is also a large balcony with a great view of the city. The hostel is located close to old town, which is very neat to walk around and shop or even better eat! There are also many stores close by if you want to cook. Did i mention how nice all the people in Sarajevo are, they are all so wonderful and accommodating, which was great for us because we did not speak the language. Also met some of Harris' family, his dad was so nice as well, helped me with my bag up the stairs. Wonderful place and even better hostel, strongly recommend you stay here!

Liked: Haris is the most friendly human being I've ever met, and the hostel itself is great. It's a bit of a walk uphill from town, but the view from the veranda is well worth it. Plus Haris will drive you up from the main office down town when you arrive with your bags. it's a perfect place to meet people and the city tour that Haris arranged was amazing and interesting. I will recommend it to everyone I meet.
