Liked: Sanela, the woman working there, is very helpful and friendly. She does everything to make you feel home. Her husband is also very nice, they picked me up from the train station, even though I arrived late at night - thanks a lot again!!! The terrace is really nice. The rooms are spacious with high ceilings which I liked.

Disliked: The hill is really steep! My room wasn't clean on my arrival - I found an old sandwich in my fridge with mould, the dust bin was not emptied and the floor in the bathroom was not clean at all, also hair in the bathtub, but Sanela cleaned everything after I asked her to. The internet in my room worked pretty well, though apparently that depends on the floor you're staying - maybe another router would help. The communication via email is a bit annoying, since apparently Sanela cannot access the emails. The owner uses his own private address as contact address, as Sanela explained to me. I found that a bit disturbing because texting back and forth via mobile could have been avoided if the owner provided Sanela with an own mail address that guests could write to. I would not book the single room again (room No. 1), because the smell in the bathroom was awful, whenever showering and using the toilet. It seems that the drainage was not well installed. There was a constant smell of addled eggs, opening the window did not help. The owner should have paid more attention to that!!!

Liked: fantastic value for money, better quality than a lot of hotels... the receptionist was so helpful too, which was very much appreciated after a long night train from zagreb!

Disliked: ill be unoriginal and say the hill, but as soon as you drop the back pack, even thats not much of an issue

Disliked: things falling apart massive walk up the hill bad place to stay if you fancy meeting people - we only got lucky because we shared our 12 hour train journey with people from the same area of london

Liked: Our second room was excellent - right at the top of the property, huge bathroom with jacuzzi, comfortable beds and a fan. Fantastic value for money considering we paid less than most hostels charge for shared dorm rooms. The housekeeper was very helpful, she even offered to do our washing at a laundromat when the washing machine broke. Despite the negatives, this is an good place to stay in Sarajevo and we would probably go back - but would be definitely checking our room first!

Disliked: However, make sure you ask to see all rooms that are available. The first room we had on the ground floor was gloomy, smelt of stale cigarette smoke and the tap and the water supply in the bathroom broke on our first day - not good. The housekeeper did let us move to another room, but we were perhaps lucky that the hostel wasn't full. Some attention to minor details would go a long way - like ensuring a decent supply of toilet paper, putting in lightbulbs, hiding loose wires and cleaning the rooms more throughly.

Liked: This property was lovely and clean, with huge rooms and ours had a jacuzzi which was fantastic. The kitchen was well equipped and the wifi worked pretty well. Everyone had previously complained about the walk up the hill, I thought it was fine. Its quite good to work off all the Bosnian food and really wasnt as steep as everyone had said. The housekeeper was so friendly and helpful, she couldnt do enough for us and was always making sure we were ok and having a nice time.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Good location, clean rooms, nice common areas, friendly helpul front desk person. If I needed accomodation in Sarajevo again tomorrow, would choose the same place, no doubt about it.

Disliked: It was the place where I got the best sleep during my 13 day trip, sooo... nothing bad to say about MD Apartments :D

Liked: Very clean. Good facilities. Sanella was so lovely and went out of her way to make sure we were well looked after. MD Apartments wouldn't be the same without her.

Disliked: Perhaps the hill as well, not too bad though.

Liked: Very good room for the price paid. The house-keeper is very helpful, professional and friendly. Very accessible to the old town of Sarajevo. Nice balcony overlooking adjoining gardens.

Disliked: Other people have commented about the walk up the hill. It wasn't that steep for me. There are buses and taxis are cheap. The property owner could pay more attention to minor details like loose wires and places where decoration isn't quite finished.

Liked: Really nice rooms and very good value. The lady that worked there was friendly and very helpful. Nothing was too much bother for her.

Disliked: The big hill to get there:( Great view when you made it.

Liked: Very friendly housekeeper who let us in at 6am despite not being well herself and cleaned the room before we arrived. This was unexpected but greatly appreciated after our overnight bus journey arrived at 5am. The room itself was clean with good furniture, Wi-FI worked fine, shared bathroom was very nice (especially as we had it to ourselves during the stay!)

Disliked: The hill! We saw the comments on here before staying, but still, it's very steep! Couple of times going up it though, you soon get used to it, especially when you see the view from the hostel.

Liked: The cleanliness, the rooms clean and new, the TV in the room, the price, the friendliness of the staff

Disliked: The staff was not present there, we had to call them all the time, the hill you have to walk up to get to the hostel

Liked: Thanks Sanella for looking after us and helping in every way you could. Yes the property is uphill which also means you get to look down on the old town and over the hills of Sarajevo. It also means you're within more a neighbourly district. The rooms were really cheap and spacious, great value for money.

Disliked: Not so many fellow travellers to meet, but having said that, great way to take a break from dorm fatigue. I replaced fellow travellers with meeting locals in the area.

Liked: The kitchen/dining area was very nice. Everything is very clean. The lady was very helpful with information about buses and whatnot.

Disliked: Well, I think we ran into some bad luck, because we didn't have internet, our light was broken in the room, the hot water didn't work, and the tv didn't work. Everything looked really nice, but it felt like everything was broken.

Liked: Mrs. Sanela was a great host. Her willingness to help us with useful information about the city and surroundings saved us a lot of trouble whenever we wanted to find a good place to eat or have fun. The rooms were incredibly neat and clean. We loved Sarajevo and we'll come back for sure :)

Disliked: Nothing. Better than that only if it was for free :)

Liked: Sanela was the most helpful hostess I've ever encountered. She was always around and had heaps to tell us about what was going on in Sarajevo. We booked for 2 nights and ended up staying 5, we liked it so much.

Disliked: The only annoying thing was that the wireless wasn't working while we were there, but that had something to do with roadworks going on outside, so it wasn't their fault.

Liked: our staying in Sarajevo was good, md apartment has big and clean rooms, and the city center is very closed!
