Liked: I enjoyed a lovely stay at Guest House Rose. The family was very helpful – even ringing the train station to find out the cost of my onward journey, and lending me a laptop when I was having problems sending emails from my phone. The room had a gorgeous view of Sarajevo, was nice and warm and felt very homely. I was collected at the bus station and given a wonderful plate of home made biscuits and tea upon arrival. Was made to feel very welcome. I will be back to visit Sarajevo!

Liked: Balcony where you can see small bats flying at dusk. Clean room with comfy bed. Very nice, helpful and friendly host. Close to town. Wifi in room.

Liked: Staff are really friendly, came and picked us up at the bus station. Got a choice of rooms and chose one with kitchen and private bathroom.Nice area to sit outside. Very close to the town.

Liked: The family who run this are excellent. The location is very good. The price is excellent. The beds are comfy. The place was spotlessly clean.

Disliked: It would be (very) hard to find without help, but given that they picked us up from the station (very early in the morning) this was not a problem.

Liked: Everything was perfect. Very friendly staff, big and clean room in a quiet place near centre. I could feel like home.

Liked: Staff were very helpful and responsive. Location was excellent, and the room was comfortable and spacious.

Disliked: We asked for a ride to the bus station early in the morning, and the staff said that would be fine, but didn't mention they'd charge for it. (The pickup from the bus station had been free.) So we were surprised the next morning when we had to pay our driver (the father) 10 marks for it. Would have been nice to have known that upfront.

Liked: Nice staff, wonderful view over Sarajevo. Short walk down to the beautiful old town. Me and my friend who stayed there would really like to recommend the place to others.

Liked: Airport pick-up. Friendly and helpful staff. Amazing view from the balcony. Close to the old town.

Disliked: A lot of steps to climb when coming home from town as the guesthouse is located on the hillside.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff, the guesthouse is just a few minutes stroll from the old town. Very comfortable rooms with clean bathrooms, good shower and an amazing view over Sarajevo especially at night. Excellent value for money when some hostels are charging the same price for a dorm bed.

Disliked: It was no problem for us, but the hostel is situated on a hill and involves a steep walk to one entrance or a shorter steep walk and lots of steps at the other entrance. If you have mobility problems, this could be an issue.

Liked: The owner's son picked us up at the airport. Very friendly and willing to help. Upon arrival, he made us tea with Turkish delights. Very nice balcony with superb view of the city. Clean room with free Wifi. Close to the old town. Useful guides for us. ( We couldn't find Tourist Information there for 3 days and reckon there might be none during April!) Will recommend others to stay!

Liked: Very safe for travelers with their own cars. A 5min walk to the famous Bašcaršija.

Disliked: Not a great place to meet people, if you're into that =)

Liked: The family who owns it are exceptionally nice and accommodating.The location is very good and the breakfast, at extra cost, is well worth it.

Disliked: I can never understand why sometimes things seem to be haphazardly put together. The bathroom in our room, while fully functional, had very poorly done tile and cement work (with funny holes in the wall), a strange shelf in a weird place. Just no thought and that extra effort which can make a place look polished.

Liked: This hostel is about 10 minute walk from the Old Town but you got amazing views from the balcony. Close to the Brewery which has good drinks and food. Wifi internet was free and reasonably fast. It wasn't great for meeting lots of people as all rooms were ensuite so everyone kept themselves to themselves. Very friendly and helpful staff who offered to give you lifts if you needed one.

Liked: the 4 euro breakfast was well worth it. The family were really friendly and had great english. Lovely place, clean, comfy beds etc.

Liked: We were given cake and a drink when we arrived even though it was late at night, which was a nice welcome. The room was fine. The guest house is up on the hill behind the brewery and is only a couple of minutes walk from the old town - they gave us a very useful map of Sarajevo. Overall it was perfectly ok for a couple of nights stay.

Disliked: The beds could have been more comfortable.

Liked: The views from the balcony of Sarajevo are amazing and the family were vey helpful and spoke good English. They even picked me up from the bus station because it was raining!

Liked: The location is very central, just 5-10 mins walk from the Bascarsija (old town). The room was very cosy and the breakfast is a must! Family were very helpful with our onward travel arrangements.

Liked: Very friendly staff. They took us from the east sarajevo bus station. The breakfast is great. The location is in deed only 5 minutes from the center of the old town. Rooms have perfect view over the city!
